While I have never written, nor filmed a review before. I do feel as though it is my duty to finally, after closing in on my one year anniversary, to write one. So I figure why not bust my cherry with my new black double barrel silver bullet. In any sense I hope you enjoy the first, and possibly only review written solely by me.

I would like to start by stating that I plan to be completely honest, because well frankly, it is all I know how to be. So without further ado here we go...

P.S. You could skip the bulk of this story and venture to the bottom where I will have a nice list for a quick scan.

The Black Double Barrel Silver Bullet
Where to start? The ordering process, yes the ordering process. The beginning to what I may eventually call a milestone in my life. Before this I had been searching for a dual atomizer supported mod, since I had grown tired of lugging around a dozen batteries for my six volt device. I decided on a whim, or more so while drinking a few too many home brewed double chocolate stouts, to order a black double barrel. The order process was simple even in my intoxicated state, which made things smooth. Shipping times were great, and most of my questions were answered here on this board.

Once my unit arrive, I can say I was not very sure what to expect. Everything was very nicely packed, and each piece of my order was held within a nice velvet pouch that will come in handy soon enough. This pleased me, as it gave it that nice elegant portrait after I savagely ripped open the box it was shipped in. Since I am not one for prolonged gratification, I instantly loaded up my 18650 that had been charged up and waiting, and slapped two low resistance 510 atomizers. Wow, that was the only thought that ran through my mind as I exhaled the first cloud of vapor. It almost startled me that something could produces such succulent vapor. To be honest it could be classified as being stupid it was so much. I was in love! Then of course after getting to work I had seen that Chad posted it would be very unwise to use the low resistance atomizers on the device, and since I know restaurants, but nothing about electronics I figured I should listen to his warnings. So I rummaged through my car searching for those emergency cartomizers I hid, and loaded those up. Not as much vapor as the low resistance atomizers, but still a little on the stupid amount side; on par with my other six volt device only with better flavor.

But enough with the story, how about we jump into what you came here to read? The review.

Dislikes - lets get the bad news out of the way first.

  • Size: This thing is quite large for my taste. Typically I prefer smaller devises that are easily concealed, but nonetheless it houses one 18650 as well as two atomizers. So I guess the size is necessary.
  • The Draw: This may not be for everyone, but I have been utilizing six volt only devices for the past four to five months so I getting used to the longer draw of the massive 18650 is taking a bit of getting accustomed to.
Likes - See now that was not so bad, now was it?

  • The weight: Although I am not fund of its size, one thing I do like is this devices weight. It is comforting, like a heavy caliber pistol resting in your hands just before a show down.
  • The Switch: Out of the few mods that I have owned by far the silver bullet takes the cake when it comes to this. The size of the button is perfect, and the nice little click of it just lets you know you have activated something great.
  • The look: I know, I know, you are most likely thinking "this guy just said he disliked the size, but now is saying the look is a good thing." Do not fear as the size does still bother me, but the elegant lines, and sleek appearance is still very nice. Not too mention with the two atomizer attached overall it just looks phenomenal.
  • The Thread: Ah yes, a piece that many often overlook. The threading on the body is wonderful. Large enough as to never panic about having a mishap, and smooth as silk.
  • The versatility: Now this is by far my favorite aspect. I can easily hook up two normal atomizers for a nice kick, or for those night kicking back a few brews I can throw in two three volt batteries for that extra umph.
Overall I am very pleased, and would definitely recommend one for anyone as it is a totally different experience. It takes a bit of getting used to sealing your lips around two atomizers, but once you conquer that it is smooth sailing the rest of the way. I purchased this mod simply because I wanted to avoid carrying a dozen batteries, but without losing the kick of a six volt; it does exactly that. The 18650 has been kicking strong all day, and even with its size it still takes less space than the extras that came along with my other devices.

You will be running a lot of current through them and you have a good chance of overdriving your battery and triping the protection circuit. There shouldn't be anything too dangerous involved since you battery is protected (it is protected right?). Not sure what our switches are rated at but I'm assuming a lot more than that.

Normal 510 atomizer is approximately 2.4 ohms. 2 in parallel would be about 1.2 ohms (I think). So with a 3.7v battery which will average operating at about 4v you would be drawing about 3.3 Amps?

Now with 2 LR510s (1.8 ohms) in parallel that would be about .8 - .9 ohms and you'd be drawing about 4.4 Amps. I think that's going to be close or over the current draw threshold to trip the protection circuit on the battery. I believe the AW 2600 18650s will handle between 4 and 5 Amps. Not sure about the other brands, but probably less.

lol, I'm not cddz so the above is just speculation.

So really the worst that can happen is I trip the protection? Would it do any harm to the unit itself though... I think for not I will just keep using my SB with 1 LR Wednesday is not that far away right?

I don't think you could harm the unit itself. It's just the battery that would be stressed.

So from what I gather from the two post is that the switch can handle, but the only issue would be if the battery can withstand the punishment. Which if it can't it would just trip the protection circuit. No explosions, or any other horrible catastrophes
If the battery protection does what it is supposed to do no, but I do not manufacture the batteries :)

I was advised not to use 2 LR atties on my DSB, use only regular atties and they do the job quite nice.

Same here, and currently I have retired my DBSB tip until my normal 510 atomizers arrive. Till then a LR510 with the 18650 will do. I was just curious as to what type of damage if could cause.

My DBSB and SB/PT should arrive tomorrow! :) Never thougth to ask, but I assume it's okay to use the DBSB on the PT???

The DBSB and PT will be fine, but what are you powering the PT with? Basically the DBSB will draw 2 times the current with 2 atomizers as it will with 1 atomizer.

One 510 @ 3.7v will try to draw about 1.7 Amps of current.
Two 510 @ 3.7v will try to draw about 3.4 Amps of current.

If you are using a 2Amp power supply then you won't get quite twice the performance with 2 atomizers. ...and you should keep an eye on your power supply maybe.

Thanks! I've got a 2 Amp wall adapter. Was looking into an enercell, but I only see it in 2 amp also. Got any suggestions? Don't want to ruin my current adapter.
