The Bolt and a question of cartomizers

So I just purchased a Bolt, with the extension, and I'm running two 18350 batteries with a 5 ml. DC tank. Upon purchase, I requested the right kind of cartomizers to run with this set up and they assured me 2.5 ohms would run fine. So I got them, with two holes.

I love how it looks, and it feels like it wants to kick .... Unfortunately, this thing is running so hot that I just had some juice pop up and burn my tongue. Obviously something is wrong. There's too little vapor, and the heat is scorching. Was the person at the store incorrect about the cartomizer size? If so, what size should I be using not to (theatrically) blow my face up? If not, what could be wrong?

I also have a set of 16340 batteries around here somewhere. If I change it out and use these do you think it would work better with the 2.5's that I have?

You do realize that you are running at 7.4 volts, right? (like 8.4 at full charge)

The Bolt is designed for a single 3.7 volt battery, be it a 18500 or 18650 with the the extension. IF your intention is to vape at 7.4 volts, you should look into a high voltage atomizer... I dont know if they make a high voltage carto.

Ok .. yes. Well, now I am.

This is what it states on the webpage of the store in which I purchased it:

Also available (sold seperately) is a silver Bolt extension that enables the use of 1 18650, 2 18350 or 16340 batteries so that you can attain a voltage of 6 or 7 volts.

It kinda makes it look like you'd obtain the same result using any combination of the above.

This is what I had in mind when I discussed the purchase with salesperson behind the counter who suggested I stick with two 18350 batteries (which I already had), and go with the cartomizers she suggested. It seemed a bit off, but I don't study e-cigs, voltage, and wattage as a hobby. This is my first time stepping away from my eGos. So I went with what the vaping store suggested.

Why would she suggest purchasing the extension when I clearly told them I would be using my DC Tank, and recommend that I use the two 18350 batteries I already had if there's no cartomizer to fit such a high output? :?:

Damn. Another 30 minute drive back to the store before I blow my face off. So how do I work this out?

If I purchase an 18650 to work with the extension, will that set up will work with these 2.5 ohm cartomizers? Or do the cartomizer sizes need to change?

If I return the extension and go with an 18500 battery can I go with 1.5 ohm dual coils like I do with my eGo?

I'm really kinda confused at the moment since I thought the sales person was selling me the right set up. :(

You may need to toss the carto you used with the twin 18350s. It's more than likely toast at this point.

Good news is that being that you already own the Bolt with the extension you could delve into variable wattage (VW) at some point in the future with a purchase of the Kick by Evolv.

Right now I just want to get this thing right and figure out my voltages and wattages and suchages. lol

Once I get a bit more comfortable I'll check into the Kick. Whoever thought of that device was pretty clever.

Oh .. and yes, that carto is done for. I can already tell I flooded it just trying to use it.
