I have a BB and an SB. No Chuck so I can't compare. Both the BB and SB have super design and quality. There's a lot that goes into such a seemingly simple device that you would never notice until it fails or bothers you.
Button -- it's the thing you end up pressing thousands of times over and over again. Both the BB and SB use an industrial type of button that's smooth, rated for at least a few hundred thousand presses and they don't stick out where they're going to get caught on things or broken. Both feel wonderful on the thumb or finger and work smoothly.
Button placement is perfect ergonomically. No reaching, it's right where you press with your finger when you grab it.
Barrel threads - are huge and deep. I don't think it's possible to cross thread. They start just a little way in from the edge so the barrel pretty much automatically squares to the top when you shove them together to screw it closed. smooth, positive and flawless.
Spring -- Yes, even the battery spring. They even put some research into the spring. What was stainless and added a resistance of about 0.2 ohms is now made of unobtanium (haha, it's copper colored but some sort of alloy) and adds basically 0 ohms resistance.
Fit and finish is impeccable.
Passthrough for the BB is the same. I don't have a PT for my SB.
AltSmoke service can't be beat.

Although the BB button is domed I've carried it a lot in my pocket and have not had an inadvertent activation yet. Could happen but it hasn't yet. The SB would have to perfectly encounter some finger sized protrusion.

No doubt I'm an AltSmoke fan but it's because of their product and the unwavering professionalism they conduct their business with.

thanks so much for your all of your thoughts on this. I appreciate you time! I'm going to get a SB. My reasoning is...

3.7v and 6v

Button reliability.

Passthrough optional (additional purchase but hey... it's there)

Timeframe. My Janty V3 button started acting a little wonky and i need to send it back. i need something in the meantime and can't wait for the chuck at this time. I think I'll get a chuck too, just not this time.

thanks again!

FWIW: ^^^^Decision was made OP made purchase

Got my SB. I love it. Great vapor. Now i just gotta find a daily vape and save up for my Chuck, and my GGTS, and my box mod, and my passthrough, and my Buzz, and my direct feed box, and my DIY mod, and some liquid...

I think I'm in love....

^^^^^^ OP loved said purchase, and will most likely own an arsenal of PVs like some of us have :D

Congrats on your new love....
