Everybody can argue all they want about the unprotected cell issue. At 3.7 volts this thing is rock solid. I won't have to worry about this thing breaking EVER! If I had just bought the Copper when i began this e-cig adventure i could have saved myself a ton of headaches and quite a bit of money.

I personally love the fact that it looks like a pipe bomb.

Do you really think there's an argument that unprotected mutli cell units using CR2 battery's go BOOM? Only takes one battery to have a lesser charge than the other for all hell to break loose.

Some good reading:

No. It just seems to me that there a few on these boards that harp on it a bit much. rather than calling you out on it, i decided to be subtly flippant about your remark. The information is out there, obviously I've seen it, so now you are making the assumption that i am not intelligent enough to realize the dangers. I am making the assumption that you are one of those people that harp on it too much because you responded to muldricks thread like so. maybe we are both wrong. fair enough.

I tend to believe that people can make intelligent and informed decisions and can be responsible for their own safety. We all take risks and don't want people telling us what to do. All of us ex-smokers should realize this. We did something that would kill us and nothing that anybody could do or say would deter us. just saying.

to that end, yes, maybe it would be right for muldrick to put some sort of warning on his website about the danger. I also believe the hole in the endcap is for this 'venting' purpose.

now back to the original thought of the thread:

as i said above, as a 3.7 volt device this thing is rock solid!

Thanks for "concerns" Mike.
As with ANY mod, battery failures are a possibilty, whether they are 1 or 2 batteries, whether they are protected or unprotected.
Your "one battery to have a lesser charge" has time after time done nothing for me or any of my customers. The unit just stops vaping.

During my prototype builds I've had several faults, switches sticking, batteries shorting, etc. I had one unit where the switch was stuck on, it "fried" the batteries to where the just stopped working (BTW: the RN4081 atty still worked for several months after), but had no "explosions", or even leaks.

As shown in the thread you referred to: "The battery looked fine except that it flipped open a small tab on the positive end where it vented the gas". It VENTED the gas, which is why I have a vent hole in my mods.

BTW: This spring I intend to do a video on a "major battery failure". I'm not sure how to make it fail, heat it up? Short it out? Any ideas?

Anyhow:
You Tube...been fine. I don't hang out here too much anymore, I'm to busy. That's a good thing :). Hope all's well with you.
Thanks for your respond to Mike's post...you to GM.
