the dreaded question!!

So, I had a eVic for quite some time, I liked it but decided to go full mech mod.

I found out last night that my Chi you is in fact a clone.

So, I noticed all the real mods are around $150 usd and up.

Are there huge differences to where people recommend not using the clones.

I've been quite satisfied with mine so fine (not knowing it was a clone)
but I was thinking about adding more to my collection and I'm trying to figure out if there are pros and cons or things people dislike when choosing a clone
ie; build quality, threads, things being lopsided or uneven, conductors not being as consistent.

I know most of them are made of the same metals and all that so I know it cant be THAT big of a difference. after all, a conductor is a conductor is a conductor.

Also, Wide bore drip tips that best fit the igo-w.

I want to build a drip tip collection but once again, high end vs low end comes to mind -.-

THANKS FOR ANY HELP IN ADVANCE   :toast:

Clones are decient... just as long as you didnt pay the "real" price for it ;)
The "real" items are usually hand made as to where the clones are CNC machined ( hundreds per 8 hours as compared to 1 per 8 hours)
yes threads can be an issue, as the tool bit ages the thread quality declines, not as clean and sharp as it would be in a "one at a time" check it every few minutes machining process. But when have you ever bought a new Lamborghini for the price of a Ford Escort? ;)

I don't know how much help I can be from the standpoint of knowledgable expert, but I think some of your answers are within your own post.

1. You were satisfied with yours before you knew it was a clone....
2. A conductor is a conductor is a conductor.

The lazy side of my would just say that if it isn't broke, don't fix it.
The other side of me would tell you that yes, there could probably be some quality differences between a clone and the real deal.
Threading, quality of your springs, and your contact points can and often are better in an authentic mech mod.

At the same time......I have bought clothes at Walmart, and clothing at what could be termed "higher end" clothing stores. Many times, the only difference is the label. Some times....the Walmart clothes hold up better.

I know that I can tell a huge difference between the "authentic" eVod batteries I have bought and the "eGo C" generics I have bought. But that is the battery, not the device itself.

Your experience may be the same or different from other's.

For me....If I am going to spend $150+ on an ecigarette........I'm getting a provari.
....not spending that kind of cash though...

Howdy,

Last question first, 5 posts, you need five posts and then you will have more access. http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...bers-must-post-5-times-new-members-forum.html

Some of the clones are well made, some are not. There are a number of posts that talk about how to make a mod work better. IE..sanding contact points, using nolox on the threads, using the correct battery, care and maintence of the mod, etc., and the reasons behind making these changes (voltage drop). One more post and you'll be able to locate that info with little trouble (I don't wanna give away the end of the story).

The main thing is....are you happy with what you are using? Meaning, is it keeping you off the cigs?

Good luck to all, vaping got me off smokes over a year ago now, couldn't be happier.

Valid points, luckily for me I don't smoke anymore either way, this is just a hobby and replacing hookah for me and the wife!

I like the clone I have but I'm trying to see if I would get even better quality and satisfaction out of an actual mod.

I will be traveling to Cali for 2 weeks so I will try to hit some stores there and see what I can find/decide.
