While singing the praises of this movie, I've been finding it hard to describe because it's really forging it's own genera. It has a very comic book meets video game feel to it, probably because it's based on a graphic novel that revolves around heavy gaming themes, but I digress. While it's based in Toronto Canada, don't expect our reality's rules to apply. They don't, and the author didn't hesitate to break them, often. When the rules are broken, no one is surprised, and they don't apologize for it. It just is the way it is.
The acting was good, the music was great, as was the writing and the special effects were flawless. You know how sometimes when you put non action stars in rolls where they have to do serious martial arts, and it just looks silly? This is NOT the case. The choreography was amazing and the actors pulled it off flawlessly.
There's been quite a few really good movies out this year, and this is one of them. For those with non gamer friends or family that you might want to drag along, they have a good chance of enjoying it if they're into action comedy romance's, anyone who sat and played nintendo for hours is a safe bet.
