We went to see the "Expendables" today.
It was Mike's turn to pick a movie. Red will be his next pick..it looks good too! Afer all he did sit through "Prince of Persia" with me.
Good grief! The theater was loud, the bullets were zinging, bodies were flying and the testosterone was so thick I needed a shower when I got home!
Sylvester Stallone was old, Jason Statham was hot and sweaty and the rest of the male heavy cast was good and mostly muscley...if you like that sort of thing.... Micky Rourke just looks odd. Eric Roberts played a good bad guy as always. Arnie and Bruce Willis had bit parts..but they provided the best laugh.
However it was nice to see Charisma Carpenter again. (Buffy and Angel's Cordelia Chase)
There was a moment at the end when I was worried that Sly would kiss the young lady (not Charisma)...eeewww! It didn't happen thank goodness! He's like 64 now! Get him a gal his own age.
The movie was good, which surprised me, I do like a good shoot em' up but lately the graphics have been ..shall we say graphic! It's just a comedy/action with blood and bullets and a few guy type bonding scenes. Nothing that remotely passed for real emotion but then the violence, except for one scene was so over the top I wouldn't be surprised if the camera men were wounded by flying...everything.
I will get this on DVD..at least I can control the sound!

Mike just read this. he said I was too hard on the old guys! I thought I was nice!

LOL a lot nicer than I was when fiance said he wanted to see it after they showed the previews on tv lol.. I agree on the sly part, I'm constantly having to ask what did he say, when I even bother to pay attention that is..

Agreed not poor Sly's finest hour. He looked like he been ridden hard and put away wet lol. Was looking forward to seeing this one but was disapointed. Think my quote after movie was "5 old guys with guns" I am sure they guys will love this one however.

I am also a Buffy fan. Buffy is my name also but like I say I was Buffy before she was born or thought of even.
