The 510 – a Durable Yet Joyful Titan of an E-cig

Just thought you might want to know that I am publishing an illustrated guide to the the 510 in the NHaler forum. The second of three installments was posted this afternoon.

My guide is, in no way, intended to replace or usurp Kristin's outstanding Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Your 510, stickied at the top of this forum. [I am not so foolish to attempt such a daunting task, nor would I be motivated to do so.] In fact, I will be referencing her manual extensively in the concluding episode of my saga.

Rather, my mini-opus is to the 510 what my WWV Illustrated Guide is to the world of vaping, i.e., filled with photos and the videos by other ECF members ... and in my own style, however one would choose to characterize it.;) One difference (other than the focus on only one e-cig model) is that it touts and features only one supplier: NHaler. There's a good reason for that: Drew bribed me!:D

Well, there is another reason as well: NHaler is at least one of the preeminent suppliers of vaping products. [I really don't think that statement is controversial; it doesn't denegrate any other great supplier (we each have our favorites) and this was my opinion even prior to receiving my box of e-cig goodies.]

Take a look at my 510 guide and let me know what you think. Thanks!

There you go again! – Ronald Reagan to Jimmy Carter

I know how to use my 21st century attys (i.e., 801 and 510). It's those strange attys of yours (i.e., B.C. 112) that have me puzzled.

Seriously, I still do prefer the 801 (but at 12:01 AM, I'm ordering an M201 from LiteCig). The main problem I'm having with the BE112 attys (especially the stainless steel ones, for some reason) is they are flooding easily on me.

You see, I drip. With my 801 attys, 3 or 4 drops is no problem, but not with my BE112s. So I thought maybe that's the problem: people praise how well the low-bridge BE112 works with carts. Perhaps they're not intended for dripping. However...

I've just discovered the fluval foam cartridge mod. It's working great on my 510; not so much on either of my penstyles. I get juice in my mouth – yuckey, pooey!8-o

BTW, Happy Thanksgiving, Sun!

Ha ha ha, DonDaBoom and Sun, you guys give me a good laugh, still going with the DSE vs B(C)E debate ;)

Not to beat a dead horse but as time has gone on and I've had a little more time with the BE112 I'm not really sure I like it much more than the DSE801.

Granted, I am still on the very first BE atty, (also a stainless version), which is a good thing of course but the tighter draw still annoys me a bit. Each time I go back to the DSE801 I go, ahhhh, nice smooth draw.

Part of it might also be that I've developed a routine with the DSE which I can't seem to mimic on the BE112. That being after several days of use or because of some lingering flavor, I will give an overnight IPA soak followed with the ole Jaaxx method via paper clip and walla, just like new. I just can't figure that out on the BE though. None the less it does still work quite well, though I'm still not convinced that it puts out better vapor or flavor, maybe time will tell.

Anyhow, am looking forward to reading your article Don on the 510. Wow, one thing I've really come to enjoy about vaping is the variety. Be it e liquids or attys or voltages, (another reason I am so grateful for my Prodigy).

As I believe Don has recently done, I to have been playing around with the 510 on occasion. I'm also on the first atty with it too, yay! And though I do notice a definite drop off in flavor the throat hit is certainly there and it does seem to maintain and very consistent draw over time.

Looking forward to picking up some pointers and of course hope everyone had an enjoyable Thanksgiving!

I've just posted, in the NHaler subforum, the final installment (Part 3 of 3) of The Fabulous Five-Ten from NHaler: A Personal Illustrated Guide. [Those are the links to Parts 3 and 1, respectively. Here's the link to Part 2.]

As I mentioned in the first post in this thread, the Guide was commissioned by and promotes NHaler, but 90% of it is simply about the 510, regardless of supplier.

This installment includes, not only photos and text, but more than 20 instructional videos by such ECF greats as MoobyGhost, GrimmGreen, igetcha, RitaLee76, RatInDaHat, and on and on (and, in the process, they tout other suppliers).

Let me know what you think!
