Plus, there appears to be a disturbing trend in the posts of some Provari users. I mean, you have posters emphasizing that they own a Provari and an expensive car or own a Provari and an ipad or I got 2 of them and on and on. It has become somewhat of a status symbol for those whom are into that kind of thing and there is essentially nothing wrong with that but I am at a point in my life where me,my wife, and children live in the old farmhouse where I grew up to save money due to me being in my last year of grad school. But, even when I am done with school I don't think we'll move out since it has all the necessities and it affords us the opportunity to raise organic hens, steers, and hogs so that we're not as dependent upon the ole grocery store.

We will continue to drive used cars since me and my wife are only 20 minutes from work and a 5-10,000 car gets us there just as well as a 30-60,000 car does. Just because I can afford a nice house in the burbs or drive new vehicles every few years doesn't mean I have to and the same goes for the Provari. I appreciate those that want to buy them, they look like a nice unit and are backed by a good company. Had I not learned about the lava tube I likely would have bought 2 of them for me and my wife. Now I see other opportunities to achieve the same thing at a lesser cost less the flash and exclusivity of being in the Provari club.

You can find them on Alibaba just search for the lava tube and send in a request. Otherwise, if you can wait a few months after they are released you may be able to get more colors that just pure black and at perhaps cheaper cost.
Thanks for your reply. I did that, 2 days ago, still no reply :(. There are several vendors selling them and I actually forgot which one I contacted.

There will ALWAYS be people who collect. I was away from this forum for a long time, but wasn't in the least bit surprised to see this behaviour on my return. I belong to several other forums, mostly related to my reading. If I go to the Kindle forums, I see people who have all their devices listed like a badge of honor. For eg. proud owner of Kindle 1, Kindle 2, Kindle 3, Kindle Touch, Kindle DX and Kindle Fire on order. lol! Then if someone dares to mention another device, like a Sony or one of the MANY other ebook readers, they get flamed by the Kindle gang.
Same goes on the Sony forums the Apple forums, same for Mobile Read or other ebook forums.
Then there are the audiobook devices forums..... don't mention an ipod Nano in the wrong place lol!!! Everyone lists their MANY devices and think (hope) their choice is superior, and click together in different groups. Woe to the one who says the wrong thing in the wrong thread. So silly IMHO.

The more devices the more competition and the better products we all get at better prices!!!

Ridgerunner, it was an analogy. Again, as I said before, hope everything works out well for you.

cheers,

This is the Provape/Provari forum. If you want to discuss where you can get other mod's, do so somewhere else.

Just speaking for myself as a Provari owner:

I'm looking forward to the Lava Tube. If it does all the same things as a Provari I'll buy two. If it doesn't, most likely I'll buy a second Provari.

So what I need it to handle is regulation, voltage control, battery safety, and perhaps durability. Given the worst case scenario- it's going to drive the Provari price down.

So either way. I win :p

I honestly can't see a downside to the Lava Tube. Even if it's not up to snuff.!

At the same time... I'm wary of hype. And this low cost version of the Provari is hyping a little too hard for me at the moment. After all the only people to really have their hands on it at this point are vendors.

My thoughts.

In the U.S. Volcano has locked the market up and they plan to start selling a black model on Nov. 15th. Its sad because some of the CAD prototype drawings looked really nice but then the initial offering is plain black. Chrome they say is next and then other colors so I think they just want to get it out there and start return on investment. Then after people buy the black one they will conveniently roll out the rad prototype colors and consumers will need them as well. They plan to sell a kit with batteries, charger, atomizer etc. for 99.00$. It will have a one year warranty and I'm sure we will eventually find out how solid their service department is.

I'm a ProVari user and I actually have my second one on the way to me right now.
I also have a preorder for the lavatube. It's not like you have to pick one or the other, so the cars analogy doesn't really fit.
The lavatube and its relatively low price is nothing but good news for the vaping community as a whole.
So what if you think their product is a knockoff? US and European vendors have been making a lot of money by selling (and copying) Chinese products though nobody complained about that :)

Hope everything works out for you ridgerunner. If I had the choice of 1 Aston Martin, or 5 chevy's, I'd still take the Aston Martin. And yes, I took the Aston.

cheers,

I will not knock it off just yet, after all you did not try it and yet you compare it, don't make allot of sense.
You seem to forget that most devises works pretty much the same. regular Mods - tube of some sort, electric switch or mechanical or VV mods = VV - tube , switch. if the Lava tube works well how is it a knock off ? To me its the same or close enough for $100 less . I had the provari a few months back and didnt like the way it was preforming with my dual coil carto, or shall i say, not preforming at all. The silver bullet is the only Mod among the many I own that preform awesome no matter what . I know i like 5V 3.7 and 6V all i got to do is change the batt accordingly . You can't tell me that you change the Voltage on your provari every 5 minutes right? you set it to your level of vaping comfort and leave it like that for awhile - same thing with switching batts. IMO

Well if you guys read the comments on youtube, the guy in the video said that Volcano sent the devices that they wanted to build to China to be copied, it's not rocket science to see that they sent over a Provari! Unfortunately they didn't opt for international exclusivity, only US...so they are selling to other vendors overseas.

Nobody can claim the lavatube will be better built but it does have some better features than the provari. Lavatube has a better display and button setup. I absolutely hate the one button setup!! It makes it a chore to change voltage and I cant count how many times I pass up the option I want only to have to cycle through to get back. I almost passed up the provari for that reason. Having to pay for an extender cap to run the 18650 battery when that should have been standard is bs. If the lavatube is up to the hype and isn't constantly breaking I will probably get one just for ease of use and nothing more. I only hope provape gets on the ball and comes out with an updated provari with the features I want so I don't have to send more of my money overseas....

I would argue that your points are all subjective. I personally much prefer the one button setup and find the display in the Provari to be much nicer. Also, I prefer to use an 18500 for the smaller size, since an 18500 lasts me all day anyways.

***On one point, I wouldn't complain if the extension cap was a package deal instead of having to pay extra for...
