I've been wondering for quite awhile now, after the advent of temperature control and it's spread into common use, where mods will go from here. We seem to have arrived one of those times, where the technology has reached some pinnacle place, where there seems to be nowhere left to go (for awhile). When that happens, how do makers of mods (consumers of that technology) distinguish themselves from all their competitors that use the same pinnacle technology. The answer could be: bling, baby, bling. Let's add blue tooth. Let's add a larger color display. Let's add, well, anything that can be added. I think, for awhile, this may be the direction things will go - so begins the bling wars with a mod I came across the other day: the Laisimo L1 200W TC APV.

Wow, umm, dare I call it "feature rich" or just the equivalent to a "big gold chain with the first letter of my name hanging from it"? We'll see, since I just ordered one and it will be here very soon. I plan on following up on this post with my impressions of this blingy device that includes blue tooth (everything is better with blue tooth), an android app, and large color screen. It's still a box mod at least, but where will this bling war take us, I wonder? Only time will tell. What do you think?

I picked up my soon-to-arrive Laisimo from here:

Update 1: The bling arrives.

I received my Laisimo 200w TC APV yesterday (Saturday), so my first update will be just about my initial impressions around the form factor, since that is of concern to most people, and a bit about the subjective performance.

The laisimo is a box mod and I stress "box". The device itself is bulky, I have to say, not so much in width but in thickness. For a two-battery mod it is not as wide as I expected, unlike - let's say - a Siegeli mod. However, it is very thick, thicker it seems that it really has to be. I have not opened the mod yet (o examine the internals), but I am guessing that the large LCD display may have something to do with this. I'll open the device and provide some pictures on a follow-up post. My only real complaint, other than the documentation being on the thin-side for such a complex mod, is the box thickness. For me, this mod is riding very close to that boundary between comfortable and cumbersome.

The mod case has rounded edges and a nice finish (I have the white version), but no other contour shaping, making it likely too cumbersome for small-handed individuals. However, the Laismo's performance, and other features, may outweigh its apparent cumbersome size. My wife, who immediately declined to entertain the notion of using the Laisimo as a daily APV, changed her mind just as quickly once she took a vape (after some pleading to do so). She was so impressed with the performance, that she appeared to forget the size entirely. If I keep the Laisimo as a daily vape, I fear I may have to buy a second at this point.

The performance of the mod is surprisingly good. FYI, I am using the Laisimo with a Maganus tank running NI and Kanthal coils for comparison. Right now, it subjectively out performs my Cubis (my daily vape mod) using the same tank, at he same settings. I will be using the Laisimo as my daily vape for awhile and will post updates to this thread, with some pictures as I explore the device further. It passed my first litmus test, "can I get my wife to use it" since she is just that stubborn and that much a creature of habit. That her 5'2" self can handle the mod, given it's size, was a surprise (as much as a surprise as my being table to talk her into trying it in the firs place).

Trying out the Laisimo has been interesting so far. I find myself bedazzled by the display - am I really feeling good about the mod, or just bewitched by the multi-color speedometer-style gauges displayed on the LCD screen, providing at-a-glance all the information I need to know what my settings are? That's going to be a tough one to figure out.

Stay Tuned as the bling investigation continues.
