What do you need for charging removable batteries for mods and APVs on a desert island?

1. A charger with a 12VDC attachment (for cars and boats). Nitecore will do fine.

2. A portable thin film solar array big enough to feed the charger. This will do for a little more than $500.

3. A charge controller between the panels and charger.

You won't be charging overnight anymore.

I was seriously going to check all my livestock web sources, but was pressed for time! Both PG and VG are used as "sweating agents" for horses, and I usually have a gallon of PG sitting around to work on fresh "skins" from varmints and Rattle snakes that make it through the multiple "barriers" into the property.

First I'd blow ~$200 on not one, but two solar rechargers. Then I'd pick up two of these for $25. For batteries I'd go with six simple eGo batteries for about $150 that I can recharge using the solar panel's USB output. Nicotine? 1000ml of 36mg solution for $60. That leaves about $65 in my budget which should easily cover a liter of USP grade VG, 100ft of Kanthal, 25ft of silica wick, glassware for mixing, and some flavorings.

With this setup, I'd wager I could make it two years.

The other thread inspired this, admittedly, but I'm not going to use this as a means to couch a "is this specific device worth it question".

I want this to be fun.

Here's the hypothetical situation:

You are going to be on a deserted island. Food/shelter/clothing has already been resolved. But, you are going to have to supply your own vape. You don't get to just bring anything you already have.

You have a $500 budget, and it has to cover EVRERYTHING you need for vaping for a year (juice/tank/battery/etc). There is no electricity available on this island. You will have no means to call anyone/web access for that year, so you will not be able to order new stuff or take advantage of warranties in that time frame.

What is the vape kit you would bring?

Cool thread , I'd use my copper stingray mechanical mod for the superior voltage drop efficiency (which I bought for $150), my brass monkee RDA ($80), 8 sony vtc4's ($80) would probably last the rest of my life, 1000ft of kanthal ($65) only subohm coils wrapped on twigs and bird bones, and using them until they rust in half. Finally $125 worth of the cheapest bulk unflavored Vegetable Glycerine (which is around 500lbs!), a plethora of TFA flavors to mix down the road, and pure nicotine.

-I would then proceed to flavor my liquid with coconuts and berries, and whatever flavor I liked on the island if I ran out of flavor. So bam high RDA quality vaping, with enough materials to last well past my remaining life time. I bet it would suck to wait for that solar charger to charge your batteries though , oh well you should be spending that time gathering food, and saving your vaping resources anyway, I'd probably vape only after dinner or at the least make it a treat to do just to ensure I'd never be stuck without kanthal, vg, or nicotine. Hell I'll vape coconut oil if I have to!

Great idea! You can use the car to charge your e-cigarettes!

But you might be over budget. Around here, 5 cartons of Newports will run you $500. (And I suspect the police car in the background will wind up putting you over the top as well!)
