The "Mouserizer" PT

So I had this old Microsoft IntelliMouse laying around that no longer worked well as the switches were totally borked. I next had a bad Blu battery (seems common) that I didn't just want to throw out. I also had a couple Radio Shack switches laying around as well from some other projects. That got me thinking, since I like to tinker. So now, I have a "Mouserizer" USB passthrough. Since I have a hub that is a regulated 5v, I figured, what the heck. I ripped things apart, taking out the guts, soldered up the switch to the USB power coming into the mouse, drilled holes in the mouse body for the switch and batter end.

So now I have a nice "ergonomic" passthrough for no money.

Fonzy, the keyboard is a Goldtouch. Completely customizable as to the pitch and and degree of split. It's held together with a ball type joint and clamp. You can pick them up on ebay for under 50 bucks once in a while. They really are comfortable if you have to type all day long like I have to.

Blaze, there isn't really much to it really. Just USB + to tip of battery connector, and USB - to the outside of battery connector. Put switch inline with USB + and that's about it.

Slighter, I love repurposing devices, especially when I know they can be used for other things. If the actual switches were working in the mouse I probably would have just used them, since they are the perfect size for other mods, with just the right amount of pressure required. In fact, I have an old serial mouse around here somewhere that I know the switches still work, and may have to repurpose those for a flashlight mod of some type.
