The Beatles - We Can Work It Out

Sorry JJ, but all three of those songs were originally written and performed by the Beatles. I think you might have either misunderstood the meaning of the contest and/or the term "Cover Song"...

From the OP:
Post videos of your favorite Cover Songs. Any type of music, but must be a cover, not an original. It would be nice to mention who the original artist/s were.

That is correct Spacekitty. They need to be covers not originals. We'll give JJ a mulligan if he wants and not count those as submissions at all, so he can still post three covers today if he likes. I started giving one like and then realized I would pretty much have to give likes to everyone so I'm not going to do anymore now. Lots of good stuff! By the way, we started late today so the first trimester winner will be announced on Thursday and that announcement will start the next one.

Patti Smith performing the song, Gloria (by Them/Van Morrison), here on the Santa Monica Pier during the "Twilight Dance Series" of FREE Summer Concerts in 2009...

And a RARE film of the original version:
Them - Gloria (Live) - YouTube

(the song was actually the 'B-side' of their single "Baby, Please Don't Go"... released in 1964)

Great stuff, spacekitty! I also like the Shadows of Knight's version.

You should know that I instantly fall in love with women who exhibit knowledge of music trivia.

You've been warned...
