Nice Trioxin...you must be an old school dork and know what a character map is...

FYI...under start>>programs>>system tools>>character map you can find all kinds of keys that you never knew existed. When you select it at the bottom it will show you how to reproduce it or you can just double click it and copy and paste it... :)

Do a search for alt codes. The ohm symbol is alt 234. Ω

You could always just bookmark this thread and copy and paste the character from one of the posts. ;)

In windows XP, you can find the character map by clicking: Start, Programs, accessories, system tools. If you are not already using it, switch to the Times New Roman Font. You have to scroll down a little on the character map to find the Ω.

There is also a web site I found by Googling Alt Codes.

Ultimate Cool Characters: Special Alt Codes and More

There is a printable list with many neat alt codes.

♠ ♣ ♥ ♦ ♂ ♀ ¾ ≤ ≥ Etc.

I am especially glad to find the codes for vulgar fractions such as ¼, ½. But I can't seem to get the eighth or third fractions to work with the codes listed there. It gives me [ for 1/8 and S for 1/3

Also, you definitely have to turn on NUMLOCK and use the number pad on the right

Thanks again Bruther and Trioxin. I had completely forgotten about the character map.
