my face is a nightmare. its been 9 weeks since i started using my ecig and i love it. its been 7 weeks since i have had a stinky stick. not bad for someone that smoked 25 yrs. has anyone come up with anything that heals up these breakouts in a timely fashion. i just get more and more and none of them are going away. its getting embarrasing. does the problem ever go away completely or is this something im just going to have to live with.

Congrats on the 7 weeks, bummer about the zits. I have a teenager with the problem, so my sympathies. I hope it goes away soon. My impression from reading the forum is it shouldn't last long. That is one side effect I fortunately escaped.

There are prescription cremes that work wonders, but so, so expensive. Gentle baking soda washes are supposed to help make them less red and dotting the big ones with castor oil and baking soda paste while you sleep makes them heal faster.

Do you drink tons of water?

i have never been able to tolerate straight water. however i am drinking a lot of beverages and juices and tea etc. black tea is supposed to be good for the lungs etc. so im trying. the dr put me on a week of steroids for another reason. my face actually was healing up well. its been a week and a 1/2 since i finished that med and now im breaking out like crazy again. its a nightmare. if this doesnt stop soon i will be off to the dr i guess. but in the meantime i was hoping some one had tried something that really works that doesnt take a script.... yeah i want it all lol

Diaper rash cream, zinc oxide is the active ingredient and also active in acne medicine. Another benefit of zinc oxide is that it's a sunscreen and helps even out blemishes and rosacea. I use Boudreaux's .... Paste because I am out of my regular face cream. It's also great for dry skin on feet. Bourdreaux's has castor oil in it, that's what helps with discoloration from acne and helps fade brown spots. I would have never tried it unless I had babies! lol! But I do recommend it and I am also a licensed aesthetician.

the quit zits are caused by all the cigarette toxins leaving your body. They tend to exit through the pores and often clog them. Since you're going to a cleaner lifestyle, I recommend googling Evan's Garden and trying their Clarity skin care. 100% organic and not only clears up the skin, but feeds it with essential plant oils and nutrients. The stuff is awesome and won't bleach your towels (I have a ton of discolored towels from using OTC acne products...almost all of them use peroxide and strip your skin along with the zits)

im pretty much dealing with hands, face and neck. ur right.... they can hurt and they are ugly. im not saying i have to look like a movie star.... but its gotten bad enough that ppl are asking me whats up with my face or they just look at me funny. not good for a middle aged professional woman in business. then i hear well just cover it up with makeup. yeah can do but a lot of these breakouts get infected when i have make up on all day. its a juggling act.

i know im going to continue to break out for a while but id like to heal this mess up as fast as i can. the new ones will come but hopefully some of the old ones will be gone or a lot less noticeable.

I personally recommend the steam room or sauna. Preferreably the latter. Also, drinking water (already mentioned), but a good amount of vigirous exercise. It will speed up your body's cleaning process flushing out all of the toxins from smoking. I personally went through about 3 weeks of flu like symptoms and exercise helped me to cleanse my body. The worst is hocking up green and brown crap that comes from your lungs healing. Gross i know. Hope this helps

yeah i did the quitters flu too. nasty stuff. no vigorous exercise here. physically i cant. but yeah i hear u about coughing up all this crap. i keep reading about all these ppl that are feeling so much better. wish i could say i am.

Dinky, I totally feel your pain. I quit six months ago, and then quit vaping two months later (15 year smoker, 36 years old, 1 pack a a day). I, too, have seen no reprieve from the dreaded Quit Zits. They really, really suck. Just when I think I've reached the end of them, I get more. Thankfully, my skin otherwise is glowing and lovely...if you can see past the zits. LOL

Also had the quitters flu...something fierce. I still sometimes don't feel quite right, but those moments are growing fewer and further between. Hoping the zits will soon disappear.

Something that has helped me is a magnesium supplement (helps with detox and general mental well-being--it calms you), and I take 2 or 3 epsom salt baths a week. And of course, drink lots and lots of water. I always feel better when I keep fresh lemons in my fridge and put them in my water during the day.

Anyway, good luck to you! Hoping that your quit zits disappear soon (along with mine)!

well nice to know im not the only one pheisty..... not that i would wish this face on anyone.... i wouldnt. yeah i pray these things go away sooner than later. u are the 1st person ive talked to that has complained about small bouts of the quitters flu after they got hit with it the 1st time. i feel like that too. seem fine and then it seems to come back. much milder but back just the same. well i hope that goes away for both of us too......

so u quit vaping also.???? was it because of all the problems u were having or were u just fortunate enough to say im done with it all. congrats....... maybe someday i will be everything free too. for now im just trying to take it one step at a time and trying to stay away from the analogs......:}}}} thats a big goal for now but so far so good.
