I'm still pretty early in, about 2.5 months... Something like that... I tell you that first two weeks was tough... If you feel like having a cig, have a vape instead... Or twenty... LoL! I find I vape a lot more than I ever smoked... It's like a present to myself I suppose...

See, I loved smoking... I would smoke one after another, and eventually I would have to stop cause I would start feeling bad... Never more than a pack a day, but I would definitely go on smoking binges a couple of times a day... With vaping, I can just vape continuously and feel great.

With higher nic levels I would feel strange, heart racing, shaky, not good... Because I vaped a lot... So now I just use lower nic levels and I feel fine, better than I have in years... AND I get to enjoy the flavor a lot more, cause honestly I attempted to smoke a cigarette at that 2 week point, and it was so horrible after the first drag I had to put it down... I knew then that my smoking days were over. vaping new flavors is part of the experience, IMO... Why limit yourself to nasty tabaccy? LoL...

I wish you the best of luck! I encourage you to use these forums as both a sounding board for your frustrations and a support group of sorts. All of us that have gotten over that hump have a lot of insight to share with you, so pick our brains! Somewhere in the pile of answers you'll get is the answer that will work for you!

And, when you get over the hump and vaping becomes a hobby, we can support that too! :) One of the things I love about vaping, as opposed to smoking, is that there is so much you can do different! Theres really only one way to smoke... But you can vape about a million different ways with all kinds of devices! And with all the money you'll save from not smoking, why not try them all, right? :) I've really had a blast sharing my noob knowledge with other newcomers, and buying up all kinds of stuff to try out!

You can do it!

I've been vaping since early September, and I still like the way a freshly lit cigarette smells. I even still like the way it smells when someone has just smoked one. (The stale smoke smell my car, clothes, and hair used to have, though? I'm sure glad that's gone!) Anyway, even if I still like the smell of a fresh cigarette, you know what I don't like anymore? Smoking one. It tastes shockingly bad, now. My husband still smokes one every morning, then goes on to vaping for the rest of the day (yay!), and once every week or two, I'll think I want one, too, and light up. Yuck. Yuck, yuck, yuck. So, if cigarettes still smell like an old, dear friend to you, don't worry. Even if you smoke one once in a while, don't worry. Keep vaping (and yes, probably up your nic level to 18), and eventually you won't want to smoke at all anymore.

Good luck! :vapor:

It's my first day vaping. So far, I'm not sure. I feel a slight anxiety - like prickles all over my body.
I'm using a 12mg juice, perhaps that's the problem...? I was smoking about 15-20 cigs a day.

It's the smell of analogs that's doing me in. Already! They smell amazing.
To me, it smells like Mom and Dad. Friends. Family. Good times and loved ones.

So, I was just wondering if any of you had/have fond memories of the smell of smoke. To me, it smells like home more than anything else. Do you ever get past it? How?

Well I certainly did. Smoking was not just about cigarettes but about groups, rewards and many other associations. As a nurse we all used to get together and talk 'and smoke' everything thru! In fact. when I went for hol with a person I trained with, I wasn't sure I would be able to refrain but I did and after worrying about it, really found the smell of cigs, even in the early days of vaping, was not pleasant. Wouldn't even contemplate it now. There u go, just hang in there past those old 'prompts' (Opps ... time!!!) Cheers and Vape On.

That's good Lisa. I haven't smelt a freshly lit ... for a while and certainly the smell of one smoked does not tempt me. Amused your husband has that morning one!! I don't think I am even tempted now. If I feel I am missing something, I just up the Menthol, never was a menthol smoker, and/or flavours. There are some lovely flavours out there to experiment with. I started off @ 18 but now on clearo's as opposed to cartridges, go between 6 and 12 mgs. Cheers all and Vape On!!
