I just dropped 186 bucks between AVejuice and LiquidXpress this morning.

I've wanted to DIY, I love to cook and I think creating will be fun.
But more importantly Its time to save some money ..... then I can buy more REOs.

I will probably still have to buy my Boba's and my Taboo but I should be able to come up with some good flavors on my own to supplement them with and save a few bucks.

What worries me is I really like tobacco flavors but some (most) of them I've poured down the drain. I've heard baccos are the hardest to make :(

Anyone have a recipe that is anywhere similar to Boba's or LiquidXpress HFC and Taboo ??

Gotta let todays purchase burn in for a few days ..... then the base liquid and flavoring collection will begin ..... wish me luck.

Best of luck BH. If you can make a mixed drink you can DIY. I have been doing it for months and now I much prefer my own mixes to store bought. Get yourself a good calculator take notes and before long you will have made a materpiece. here is a good calculator that I use almost daily:
eJuice Me Up - e-Juice e-Liquid Recipe Calculator

I buy a lot of flavors from One stop DIY, nicvape.com and Liberty-Flights. I also buy PG and PG from both of these places.
for nic, xtreme has the top of the line followed by arctic, MFS, nicvape and crytsal clear vaping. MFS usually has great sales but you need to watch for them.

Anyway enjoy the DIY. The initial outlay can be a little steep since you will most likely grab a bunch of flavors and suppliers but after that the savings kick in.

The Joys of the Juice Lab. No greater joy then mixing your own juices, and no one can make a juice better then you can. DIY is a HUGE money-saver. I started DIY when juice vendors were selling for $1 a ml. Costs me .2 cents a ml now. I don't even mix "sampler size" anymore. I mix 10ml bottles so there is plenty to shake up and mix super small amounts of individual flavors. If I don't like a mix, 10 ml bottle get dumped in the trash.

In terms of tobacco type flavors, nothing tastes like a burning cig. I have plenty that taste the exact same if I actually ate a cig, or maybe just put the whole thing in my mouth and suck it. I have many that smell like tobacco, but do not taste. Good news is that while you are looking for a cig type flavor, you will find a few that you like just for what they are. I'll list a few of my favorites:

DK tab from Perfumer's apprentice
Marlburo from Heaven's Gifts
East Coast tobacco from Vaporenu

Then there is the tobacco absolutes from a lot of different places that I might add a drop or two to one of these other flavors. I prefer Tobacco extract from PA as an additive to put a punch to tobbaco juices as well.

Warning: it will make you sick when you realize how much you have wasted buying premade juices. Especially if you vape 6ml+ a day like I do. Ever wondered why there are so many juice suppliers out there? Because it is so cheap to make, and soo many people will buy it.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Lots of suppliers out their for flavorings that are overcharging as well, same for the nicotine. Shop around, and it will blow your mind really how cheap e-juice is to make.

We have a whole DIY section here on the forums, full of a lot of great info.

The hardest part is sourcing reasonably priced flavorings and nic. It's like shopping for an Ego: so many people with the exact same thing that is rebranded and sold and quite a huge variance in price. We have vendors re-bottling other vendors flavoring as well and marking it up. Changing the names on flavoring so you think you are buying something new, when it turns out to be something you have bought already from someplace else under a different name. Nicotine has a MASSIVE variance in price, with lots of people advertising a lot of Bull to make you think theirs is better then someone else and charge you 3x as much.

Welcome to the joys of DIY. If you keep your eyes open for the deals on nic juice and flavorings its possible to get your costs down to as low as 17 cents/mL - and at the flavor, base mixture and nicotine concentration YOU want and that works for YOUR choice of gear and YOUR taste.

I am not far behind you BH. I like Malty & Toffee from BWB so I need to try to get close to those somehow. Glad there will be someone helpful to bother with questions :)

My hands down favorite is BWB malty toffee and I would love to get something close to that too. But I don't think I would ever be able to even if I knew the brand of flavorings Don uses. In any case it is fun to get into DIY to try and create my own flavors.

I would love to make my own flavor personalized to my tastes, but I just got my first bottle of boba's a couple days ago... and yep that's it. I would hate to take a chance buying any flavorings, unless of course they were the precise ingredients in Boba's Bounty. Hope you find your flavor, and if you somehow stumble upon the recipe for bobas, PLEASE PM ME lol. I promise I wont tell :p If I were you I would try a tobacco flavor mixed with a doctor pepper flavor, that's kind of what I get. If not I bet it would still be tasty :)

Gourmet vapor has a 50% off sale right now so you might check to see if it's good on their unflavored nic or even pick up some premade at 50% off. The code is - giveme50 It's good til July 4. Quality brand e cigarette and e cig liquid from ecigexpress.com for flavorings is one of the best priced for flavors. My Freedom smokes, box elder chemical supply, and crystal clear vaping are the places I've picked up good nic liquid, and they generally have sales to look for often. Blue mist has the seedmans tobacco flavorings and 10% flavoring seems to be a good place to start. I've made a few tobacco flavors with the seedmans commercial and fire cured; they're not bad but not Bobas either. I like FlavourArt perique black but don't care for their other tobacco flavors. I like the perique blackberry flavor from Gourmet vapor/honeyville vapors so picked up 250 mL for about 45 bucks.

I find buying direct from the flavor suppliers is the cheapest way to go. LorAnn, Flavor Apprentice prices will be lower if bought direct. If you see a product listed on a site I recommend checking the price against the manufacture price. Might not be a lot per bottle, but it does add up when buying bulk.
