'The Touch' : A touch-operated Power Stick

This second video shows the electronic touch switch in operation - this version is the single contact one.

As mentioned yesterday, I am experimenting now with a profiled power output so that once the atomizer is fully heated, power can tail off. This will help protect against overheating, extend battery life, and mean it is impossible for the power to stay on. As seen in the video, even if one keeps in contact with the touch sensor, the output profile remains the same. However, a brief touch gives a shorter power duration. The output in the experimental setup is just the brightness of the LED.

This is something for the future. I am happy with the fully manual version for the time being.

Kinabaloo,

Great Job! I Like it a lot! Let me know

Have sent a PM.

General point: The holding comfort is just a little better when the thumb or index finger is used on the side rather than the front, although there is not a lot in it; the box just sits in the hand better this way I feel, with longest side flat against palm. The contact could be placed anywhere.

Nice work kinabaloo!

Would you be so kind to share the info on the MOSFET used for this? All that I find are rated at 5V+ at the gate or have a too high impedance of 2ohms or more.

Edit: nevermind that, I just found some that fit into specs @ 40milliohm and working at Vgs of 2,5V
I just didn't do my homework right :D
