Hi all.
I'm a swedish newcomer to this site (found out about the e-cig concept only a few days ago) and I just wanted to hand out my hellos and throw a few thoughts in the air...

First of all, from what I have found, these genious things doesn't come very cheap if ordered from swedish sites - most of the retailers I've found sells the e-cigs for roughly £30 - £40 (~$70 - $80) more than the average international sites and thus, I have begun looking abroad for my place of retrieval.

After a couple more hours of investigation I've come to the conclusion that one of my better bets would be to place my order at http://www.theelectroniccigarette.co.uk. There are many people at this forum who have hardly anything but positive things to say about this guy and his merchandise and the same goes for a few customers from other places as well.
(Cause even with the extra shipping, it would still be much cheaper than to buy one from a swedish site.)

My main concern right now is whether to go for the longer "pen style" cig or the most "real" looking of them all; the super mini e-cig one. What draws me toward the pen-version is mainly that it is said to have batteries with more capacity as well as longer lasting cartridges (some sites claim that the pen-style's cartridges have up to 150 - 200 inhales more than the super mini's). On the other hand, I'd really like the super mini since it looks more like the real deal and is probably a bit more discrete (sizewise)... (Amount of vapor is a big factor too of course!)

And then comes the deal with the e-liquid. I don't even know if I've got it right; My interpretation is that instead of replacing an expended cartridge, you can poke a small hole in it and use included tools to fill it up with e-liquid of different flavours... What exactly does the e-liquid provide - both the nicotine and the vaporous substance? Is it cheaper in the long run to use e-liquid instead of buying extra cartridges (depending on pricing of course)? What is recommended for an e-cig newbie?

Last question for now; My goal with starting with this e-smoking is to gradually cut down on the nicotine level and hopefully, in the end, be able to lay off of it completely. However, the smoking "ritual" has grown on me over the years and to me, (almost sadly to say(?)), it has become a big social thing to join my friends and colleagues for a quick smoke a few times a day. IF I would manage to bring it down to those 0% cartridges in the end, would that make the e-smoking completely innoxious - thus enabling me to still join my pals with my e-cig every now and then without further damaging my health in any way (passive smoking excluded)?

Many thanks to anyone who replies to this and for all the great info, insights, reviews and knowledge you all share and provide over here. A true gold mine for the e-freshies out there!

hello swesent.yeah hes a very good seller.i have bought the mini and pen style from him,and they are both good.i havnt bought the supermini yet, because i e-smoke non-stop,and it would be too much hassle because of the shorter cartridge and battery life.the mini(the middle sized one) might be a good compromise,it produces slightly thicker vapour with more of a hit to the throat-its a DSE901-a good e-cig...the pen styles cartridges and batteries last longer, and it still provides good vapour.either of the ones i have id recommend..i like them both equally for different reasons.youll have to make up your own mind if its the look or practicality thats more important to you.by the way,the cartridges will not last as long as you think they will, the adverts are misleading,so be ready for that.you might get 4-5 cigs worth from a supermini cartridge ,7-8 from a mini cartridge, and 10-12 from a penstyle cartridge,in my experience.it depends on the cartridge, and how you smoke.

the liquid contains nicotine and propylene glycol(PG produces the vapour),its heated by the atomiser, produces the vapour, and its the vapour that delivers the nicotine to your body.its works out cheaper if you can get liquid to refill cartridges.

if you cut down to zero nicotine you can still enjoy the ritualistic aspects of e-smoking.the long term effects of inhaling PG regularly in large quantities is unknown...doesnt sound like youd be a very heavy user anyway, more a social e-smoker,so i wouldnt let it worry you.im not a bit worried about it personally...all i know is that since exclusively e-smoking i feel much better than when smoking cigarettes-my lung capacity has improved and my asthma isnt nearly as bad-so i wont be stopping it any time soon.anythings better than smoking cigarettes, right? ;)

Thank you for your replies and suggestions!

I'm leaning a bit further towards the pen-style now.
When the day comes, I think I'll order some extra cartridges - maybe around 10 - 20 - and I'll have to start searching for a good place to get some e-liquid too then. (And good detailed info on how exactly to use it/do the refills in the best and most effective way.)

What I need is a good, well priced e-liquid supplier who can ship to Sweden. Time to go link-hunting again!

The bad part (if you don't misunderstand) is that me and the misses are going away for a few days' vacation, which will leave the last of this month's cash a bit dried out. So I'll have to keep destroying myself with the regular deal a couple more weeks before I can afford to place my order.

(And to answer an earlier "question"; no, I'm not one of the "worst" smokers out there. Most of my smokes during the day are social - I'd say I go through roughly 8 - 13 cigs a day depending on how much stuff I have going on to distract me.)

Anyway, I can feel that good times are comming (and if the e-cig works well, I'm sure that I can sell the concept on to at least four - five peeps who really wish they had a better alternative)!

Cheers!

Finally things are starting to move along.
Cash in the bank and my order is away!

Since I have no clue whether I'll come to like these e-cigs or not, I decided to go with a cheaper one (should this thing revolutionize my life - then I'll may spring for a more expensive one, should it be neccessary). And besides, with a not so optimal cashflow, I'd rather hold on to any excessive cash.

So, I ordered myself a mini e-cig from e-cig.com with 25 cartridges and one of those caps to carry it in.
I was thinking about getting some liquid too, the smallest bottle, but every liquid on their page is out of stock atm.
Maybe there are other sites with good prices I can get those from - but I'll worry about that later.

Now my hopes are that I will receive this package by the end of next week if that's not pushing it a bit on delivery.

On a side note, as I happen to be a type-1 diabetic, I could take a spare syringe and use that to drain the "empty" cartridges (if I can find a good bottle for it) and try the dripping business anyway...

I'll keep those who happen to follow this updated.
'Til then - I'll be watching you all over here :)
