Hey all. While this would probably be better served in the "New Members" forum, I can no longer start new threads there. So, it's here. And I think the advice / additions gained here could be useful. Maybe a kind mod will move this thread someday. :p

Anyways, I thought it might be useful to have a list of an "ideal" starter kit for people finding the forum, who haven't yet taken the plunge. Feel free to chip in with your thoughts, too.

The Kit

1. 3 batteries - simple enough. If one dies, you can still rotate your pair while waiting for a replacement. ($30)
2. 2 chargers - again, if one dies, you've still got a spare. ($20)
3. 60-100ml of juice - ideally in small sampler flavors (5-10ml), unless you already know your flavor. Keep in mind, many vapers lose their taste for tobacco after quitting smoking, so mix it up a bit - get some other flavors. You'd be surprised at what tastes good as a vape. ($30-50)
4. 10 Cartomizers - This should be enough to let you rotate them. Alternatively, ($15-20)
4. a. 3 atomizers and 5 cartridges. ($20-25)
5. 3 Drip tips. At least 1 delrin, 1 anondized aluminum. ($5-10)
6. A USB passthrough - this is a particularly good investment if you have access to a USB port for a good portion of your day. If you don't, feel free to skip this. ($15-20)
7. A small-ish box to keep your ecig gear in. Juices, cartos, drip tips - they accumulate. This just helps keep everything organized. ($10)

For a grand total of: $110 - 185.
Or about the same as you'd spend on an overpriced mall kiosk starter. :p

This, to me, is what the starting vaper should have. No need to jump to mods just yet - just a relatively simple setup to get someone going.

Did I miss anything?:vapor:

On the USB passthrough, I'd automatically add a 2A USB wall wart or 2A cig lighter adapter, $10 - $12. This lets you save the batteries, as well as get a taste of high voltage vaping.

If someone was a 510 manual candidate, 2 2-battery Riva kits for $70 would cover the batteries, chargers, atties, cartridges. Two packs of cartos and $40 liquid (90 ml) gets you to $130, right in the middle of your range. They could split the Riva buys, do one full set up front but wait a month or so for the second, so it's more like $90 - $100 up front, then $35 at month 2. If they went with the moderately hefty Riva batts, the PT could also be pushed off to later, though I personally believe everyone should at least get a taste of HV vaping.
