SAN DIEGO A 72-year-old Mission Hills man was hospitalized early Thursday after his caretaker reported that a dog chewed off some of the mans toes.
Officers were called to the home on West California Street near Bandini street just before 5:30 a.m., San Diego police Detective Gary Hassen said.
The caregiver told officers that there were two small dogs in the home and that one of them had blood on its face, Hassen said.
Animal control officers placed the one-and-a half and two-year-old Cavalier King Charles Spaniels under a 10-day quarantine to be watched for rabies, said Lt. Dan DeSousa of the Diego County Department of Animal Services.
