Hi Jason, are the IMR 10440's considered "protected?" I have a small mod that takes 2 10440's and was told that because the batts are "stacked," the protected type is required (Trustfire type) for safety. Sorry if this is repetitive - I'm a mod novice.

Hi Villager,

These batteries are not protected, but they use a very safe chemistry (LiMN). If you are using low resistance atomizers, these are definitely worth getting and just keeping an eye on.

If you are using a Little Sister, I can tell you that these cells have been approved for use.

Let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks Jason, I'm not planning to use low resistance atomizers - the mod is said to be 5 volts - I would mostly use KR808D-1 cartomizers. I have some LR 510 cartos I could use with an adapter, but I thought that LR anything w/5 volts was a bit risky, right? It's not a Little Sister but appears to be similar (more homemade, not by me!), I could pm the pics.

The protected batts fit the connection, would the IMR's be a bit shorter & need something added? I guess I thought the IMR had more / other advantages besides handling the "high drain" of LR atties, like maintaining a constant ~3.7 volts, maybe lasting longer than the Trustfires? Would the TR-001 charger be good for both kinds of batteries, not overcharging the IMR's, or is there another charger that would be more appropriate?

Last question (promise), do you carry a "dummy" battery that I could use in place of one of the 10440's to have a 3.7 volt option? Thanks again, I appreciate your help.

Villager,

With IMR batteries, you will stay in the "sweet spot" of the power band for a longer period of time, versus lithium-ion. It will therefore offer a more consistent vape.

The TR-001 charger is perfect for most cells that we all use, including the 10440. It will not overcharge it, and best of all, you can charge two different cells at the same time (pretty neat).

Here is a link to the protected 10440:

TrustFire 10440 3.7v 600mAh

Also, I am sorry I do not have a dummy 10440! From what I understand, they are pretty difficult to come by and most folks actually make them DIY..

Thanks,

Everyone, please welcome our newest member of the family..

Say hello to BRUTUS:

BRUTUS is a 5v Regulated Box Mod.

With it, you get:

• Brutus 5v Regulated Box Mod

• (2) 3.7v IMR High Drain 14500 batteries

• 6ml bottle of American Revolution USA E-Liquid

BRUTUS packs a BIG punch for a small mod.

Thanks..
