Hey guys I'm new but I'm gonna go all out on this post, so hold on this might get bumpy.

So as many of us I started with the 510 models following that feeling that wannabe ex-smokers share that the e-ciggy that looks more like a real ciggy is surely the best in order to make the full transition into the world of no smoking.

After two years I've tried a flurry of cart and cartomizer mods, the pin, the paper clip, the plastic stripe, the hook and cap, many methods that coincidentially I wandered upon on this very forum.

Finally I was frustrated by the reliability/complexity of the atomizer-cartridge or cartomizer combo and went all out into the proverbial challenge, choosing the next best thing.

Soon I found out that in the world of 510 compatibility it kinda narrowed down to three cost-effective/ convenient options:

1- Learn to carry a needle around to refill new CE2's aka fluxomizers.

2- Buy new attys and carts and join the tank revolution.

3- Get a hold of the Vortex initiative.

Since I've never been fond of needles (and I'm sure that the local Texas policeman is definitely not a fan either) the CE2 was the first thing I crossed off the list. No matter how cool the thing looks, no matter the ease with which you can mod the device, it's a pain in the b. No matter what, it kinda seems it requires you to go the extra mile in order to just be comfortable with it.

Then there was the Tank. Goodness. And I mean that in as positive as any comment can be. It really looks like a step in the right direction, but then again, having to replace all of my attys in order to join the revolution was a subject that my wallet was very uncomfortable with. But then again, it's hard to find bad reviews for it.

And then there was the Vortex. Clear, sleek, good looking, innovative, and it holds so much liquid.
Needless to say, I went for it. Cheked the reviews, even the one's on the tube and after a few I got myself a set.

At first it didn't matter when my friends said that from a distance it looks like I'm smoking a crack pipe. Really, the experience was amazing, tons of vapor, very little shift in flavoring towards the not-as-tasty side, but a great deal. Really, I was static for the first few days until the fist one came apart. It was then when I took a really good look at what I bought and now is when I drop the hammer.

Out of a pack of 5 I'm already down to the last 2 in less tha 20 days of spontaneous, non consecutive use.

I am appalled by the low quality of assembly. Not only are some of these clear tubes cut unevenly making my e-cig
look crooked, but the adhesive agent used to secure the tube to the atomizer core melts away as it's exposed to the
heat. This causes the clear tube to completely detach from the rest of the atomizer. A mess every time. I don't even
have the habit of taking long drags as I know the prolonged heat exposure is bad for the device and the overall flavor.
The amount of vapor produced is so vast that this is not even necessary. Alas, this and the holding capacity of
e-liquid are the only good notes I can think of.

Regretably, this very promising device is unreliable at best. The soft cap used as mouthpiece is very loose, I've
already lost one of them and dropped another many times since the cap's plug end is too short to keep in place
securely.

The drip tip purchased along with the pack has proven to be unreliable as well since tilting the device
will cause it to drip from the tip. On top of that, the spillage caused by the separation of the clear tube from the core
has already cost me one of my 510 Mega automatic batteries which I use with the suggested adapter bought along
with the vortex pack. The e-liquid in the loose vortex tube spills through and around the adapter and into the battery's
automatic trigger, clogging it beyond repair.

It took me a while to figure out what was going on. I found out when I tried to remove the vortex and ended up with
the clear tube in one hand, cylinder, core and battery in the other. It didn't even take force to separate them, came
off smoother than a cap from a plastic pen. The next one was the same, twisting it on or off makes it even more
vulnerable especially if no precautions are taken to make sure assembly or disassembly happens once the device
has cooled down. It crossed my mind to try to glue the pieces back together but I'm hesitant as I still don't know
what type of glue would be safe for this operation. This is a great concern if not a huge health alert for DIY minded guys
like me.

It wasn't long before I sent an e-mail to the manufacturers. Regrettably, this was their reply:

"Hi--not sure the PV you are using on these but they shouldn't be used on
higher than a 3.7 device as the heat can expand that connection down there.
With that said They are more fragile than a solid tubes cartomizer. If you
got 20 days or so out of three of these that is about what is to be expected
on these as they are disposable. We recommend or expect a good three days or
so out of each (many get more or less depending)."

Word to the wise, if it looks too good to be true, read a detailed review.

I'll post something else once I've had a crack at the new Tanks.

Welcome to ECF. You have round the cutting edge of e-cig modding, glory be.

You may want to look at the modders forum and see how attys can be modded and check out some of the forum suppliers list and what they sell. There are tanks, that can be very large actually, that use CE2 atomizers with the housing cut away, such as the MAP tanks and various others. Some can easily hold 5ml and some even more. They work very well and deliver very good flavor, and most of them can be refilled simply by removing the top and pouring your e-liquid into them, no needles required.

I had many of the same problems you did along with a heavy plastic taste on all of them. Well 4 of them. I still have one new.
I gave up. I have read a lot of posts where people did a number of things to make them work. If I have to make something work, I'm out.
I want products that work correctly from the start.
I tried the clear tube mod from Stormy's Vapor Cellar and that unit worked much better.
