Sun...it just has been an unhappy day all around for me...A friend I have worked with for ten years(in a single income family)was let go today for something silly.With an economy as bad as it is here in Mi,I am very concerned for the well being of this indivual. I think I may have more to add on what you posted here tommorrow...more than likely for the best!!

No, no, no, Sun.... you're misunderstanding the intentions, here..... I decided to put up another Emerald, for the vaping community at large. I put up the website, the forum, the chat room, etc..... I wanted a stand-alone Emerald City (not tied to any individual forum). I didn't consult the Wiz because I wanted it to be a special surprise for him.
In short, I did this, because I wanted to.
There's nothing amiss here, Sun... it's simply another option for gatherings of vapers.

I'm so sorry for your friend, Wiz. These economic times have been disasterous for so many people and the threat of far more victims is far from over. Please send him our best wishes and hopes for something new and better in his future.
Sun I didn't know either.....But it looks like it will have the support of the site admins...Vicks,Biteme,and Tone...all long time Emeradites such as ourselves...for some reason or another I was kept out of the loop...Still looks dark over there...and always raining..LOL!!

This was supposed to be a surprise for The Wiz, but instead, it looks like feelings got hurt, and it didn't work out like it was supposed to!!
The deal is that we had problems getting things to work right, (and some things STILL are a bit wacky) and Vicks didn't want to show it off when it wasn't ready. But the best laid plans.... (you know the quote).....
The bottom line is that we screwed up, and other people found out before the Wiz did. For that, I'm incredibly sorry
The "UP" side is that the Wicked One has come up with another place for us to hang out and get stupid, and that is a good thing!!!
It's not associated with any forum, and it's pretty much open to all. It should be a great place to meet and make new friends!

BiteMe........While I do appreciate surprises(and you have surprised me before)I'm afraid this one was not the type I am accustomed to from yourself and Vicks.Am I hurt here...No,I heal real quick.I am(to say the least disappointed)Our friendship goes back long before The Emerald City was founded(back to the days of MissECF if I remember correctly),and Vicks right around the same time.I have always valued the frienships we have made here in our little slice of ECF(and always will)
What does disappoint me is the fact that friends decided to embark on an endevour that concerned me without the benefit of a mention until after the fact.
when Vicks showed me the link the other day to the New Emerald City site I really didnt have much of a chance to think things out,but I did do what I would do for any friend embarking in a new adventure...I wished her well and much success...and I still do! I have since had a chance to gather my thoughts on the situation we now have. My concers and questions have been pondered on and well though out and perhaps some confusions I'm having can be explained.
But first let me explain what they are.My common sense tells me that setting up a New e-cig related forum takes some thought and planning...I was never made aware of this from day one.My image,username and Idea were put into place without my knowledge as well.I was never asked in any way shape or form to be anything there but another member(wich I am fine with).
Would I have given my input originally if asked...absolutly.Would I have agreed to let Vicks use my username,avatar and group name in a larger scope...more than likely(again with some input from myself, as was again, never asked for)Would I have wanted to be involved as a Site Admin...perhaps I would have(although I'm quite sure that Vicks,Tone and yourself will do a fine job!)
My avatar,username and group name will not make this forum stand out...its what lies beneath that will...the content itself. IMO Vicks has enough merit and fan base to have just used a more original idea for a Forum title...The Vicks Vapor Dungeon is one that would have came to mind(the site layout itself is a far cry from what my vision of The Emerald City),not so much a bad thing mind you....just a different interpetation as I would have suggested if asked...but again never was.
So in answer to your post here one more time(and hope for a reply from yourself and Vicks)....I am not hurt(If I were MaryKay from The Womens Room I may have been),just disappointed.....Not sure how much more there is for me to say here....other than wonder how far a "Hey Wiz what do you think?" would have gone here?....I guess I will never know! I am now off to enjoy the last great weekend of the summer with my family...I hope you and everyone else here has an oppertunity to do so as well!! Your friendThe Wiz!

Hmmm. I'm kind of on the fence about EC4. Once I get comfortable somewhere I usually stick around there and rarely stray far from it. I've been a member of a Pontiac Grand Prix forum for 6 years. It's the biggest one there is and there are several others that tried to spin off from it. I joined but didn't post much and finally stopped going there preferring to stick with the original where I had a lot of friends. Similar with here and V F. I joined there and post there on occasion but always end up back here for some reason. I don't think it's loyalty. It's just that this is where I started. Same with the Emerald City now. It was hard for me to think of another one after this original one started. It's like the roots are here and the others are just branching off.
Oh, and Wiz, speaking of roots sorry I never gave you any well wishes during the teeth yanking episode. I had the same thing done a few years ago and I had nary a problem and I knew you'd get through it fine.
