Hi all,
First time poster, long time lurker. You guys have unknowingly saved my .... many times. I've been vaping for 284 days now (have the little graphic as a widget on my desktop
).
My first ecig was the Blu (yeah, yeah, I know). I had heard the ads on my satellite radio from Smoking Everywhere or one of those rackets, and had scoffed at the things for quite a while. One of my most-visited websites has a Blu ad in the corner, and finally one day I clicked that ad. Now, I'm not saying Blu is a great company or anything, but holy crap was that a serendipitous move.
I had been smoking for well over a decade (I'm in my late 20s). The tolls of this were really starting to get to me, and waking up every morning feeling like I was dying started to get old. I've tried the gum. I've tried cold turkey, and got to almost 6 months before I failed. The problem was that the burning urge to consume nicotine never ever went away for me.
When I clicked on that ad way back in February, I had publicly quit smoking, but was still privately smoking as much as I could. I lived the life of a criminal, sneaking around and frantically trying to make myself smell better after each secret drag. It was a harried, miserable existence I lived.
So, after doing a good amount of reading about the Blu, I finally placed my order. A week later, after antagonizing over whether I'd made a good choice in buying an e-cig in the first place, my order arrived. The standard Blu package is more or less like the standard 510 PCC starter kit, if anyone's wondering. However, the Blus follow a much different design methodology - their cartridges are not meant to be refilled.
I smoked my last analog the day before my Blu arrived. I spent the next week and a half sucking down those puny little cartridges, until they were pretty much bone dry. As I said, they're not meant to be refilled, but I had read elsewhere that it was possible. Before my supply ran too low I did some research (you should know that all of this was before I discovered ECF) and ordered a bunch of juices from EastMall in China. The wait for those juices was probably one of the most antagonizing of my life, as my Blu cartridges were slowly sucked dry. I even ended up rooting through those that were empty hoping to get a few last puffs off of them - I was that desperate.
Finally, my ejuice cleared customs and arrived in my little dusty town. I'd ordered something like 200 ml of juice, and was set for a while. Soon thereafter, though, my Blu attys stopped working so great. Finally, after searching on the internet for ways to make my Blu better, I stumbled upon ECF and its ridiculous wealth of information.
Long story short (sorry, I tend to get wordy), I moved to a 510 and then eventually to an Ego. I buy all of my equipment from esmokeronline, and am a loyal customer. Right now I'm vaping on an Ego passthrough with an LR atty and a drip tip, and couldn't be happier. I vape only Tasty Vapor and it's by far the best I've had (tried some other US stuff, but that was still Chinese liquid in disguise). I can't put down this black licorice, and of course AC is amazing. All of this was possible thanks to you guys. I haven't made a bad buy since the Blu thanks to ECF.
So yeah, to my post title. I'm a college student, and this semester has been by far the most stressful time of my life. If anything were going to make me go back to smoking it would be the stress that I've had to endure this semester. For computer science-types who are interested, I'm taking compilers, which at my school means we're building a C compiler. I won't get into details, but it's been a lot harder than it had to be due to the group I was assigned (and that's already an extremely nontrivial task). But, I'm graduating in a week, and have been smoke-free for 284 days. That's pretty amazing. I feel good - I can breathe deeply and smell things again.
