The worst reason to order a new door EVER

I pulled this thread back from page 3 to say my new door arrived. It's a blemished sparkle red door on an extremely blemished 3 year old silver grand. The blemishes are extremely minor, but more importantly - the door doesn't schlick out of place easily like the old one did. All is quite well once again. I just have to wonder if the Sewer Rat is still having fun on his new boogie board. He's probably out in Galveston Bay by now, so I'm guessing not. But someday 100 years from now it'll get dug up on the beach and probably slide right into somebody's Grand and still work. Imagine!

I guess the vanishing turd trick works with other items as well...too funny.

Before you put that replacement door on give that Reo a good squeeze from the sides. New door will still slide but with a little resistance so you don't do something crazy like drop it in a urinal or toilet if you lose magnet contact...lol.

So I just tried this, because curiosity got the best of me... it does seem to work... it put a little more friction on the sliding door. Before it would pretty well drop by itself if I slid the door down just away from the magnets (battery out). Now, there is a little friction to it - just enough that it won't drop by itself. Now, I really didn't go crazy squeezing a ton, just enough to see if I'd notice a difference and there is... for what that's worth LOL

I think I'd vote for bending the door slightly versus the mod though.
