First of all, I'm new at this, so if this has been discussed, please go easy on me.

Received an extra atomizer, and noticed it was in an enclosed package (like carts) and it was 'wet'. No idea what it was 'wet' with, wasn't oily, I didn't study it all that well ..... Anyhoo ...

Maybe the crud forms because it dries, and keeping it moist is the ticket. We just end up smoking the crud away since its never hardens into crud.

Ok thats it.

Jonny--the new atomizer you have is "wet" because that is the way all of them come from the factory as they are primed with PG so as to not burn up when first being used. The residue is a function of heated e-liquid that hardens on the coil, does not let the heat disipate, and eventually causes the coil to not be able to expand or contract and snaps----keeping it "wet" will not stop the residual deposits in the coil and user intervention is needed to abate this----------Sun
