I saw a post this morning by a newb or an almost newb. She was pretty thrilled to hear all the success stories here on ecf after she had read a media report that most people weren't able to quit smoking via vaping.

Surely vaping has some failure rate right? It might be as high as like 80%. Who knows? If you consider that the average smoker gets a njoy from 7/11, hates it and never tries it again, surely it might be that high.

It got me to thinking that ECF itself or any vaping forum probably contributes to smoking cessation. I mean even those groups who plan to completely quit nicotine usage, I believe their success rate to be higher than those trying to quit without a support community.

Here's where vaping differs though.

All these other support communities are all about abstaining from a thing.

Ours isn't. Ours is like "DAMN HAVE YOU TRIED THIS JUICE FROM (insert vendor)" or "HAVE YOU TRIED THIS COIL SETUP YO? ITS MAD WHACK".

Our method of quitting is all about indulgence and having a great experience whereas there's is all about deprivation and self punishment and so on.

Go look at one of those boards its all "I've been smoke free for 14 months but i was at a bar last night and i nearly ate half a carton of camels".
