i know i'm super happy now that i live in a non-smoking building. even when i was smoking i would rarely smoke inside. my neighbors in my old building would chain smoke so hard that their stale cigarette smell would seep into my room, and get into my linens and stuff. i quit smoking and was vaping for two months before i had to move because they were renovating/selling my condo.
the problem isn't so bad here, but i still find cigarette butts on my balcony every weekend. i also have coworkers who don't care if their smoke is wafting towards me, and it's pretty gross.
when i was working at the venue, often enough you'd get the charmer who'd blow smoke in your face. or a group of smokers, meaning well, would keep me company and talk. which is fine, until i had a group of 4-8 people smoking near me for a few horus straight and my chest would get tight and i would get dizzy.
so ya. i'm an ex-smoker or whatever and cigarette smoke bothers the crap outta me. im not that ashamed of it.

LOL, it's been over a year and a half and I still feel terrible for all those poor non smokers I tourchered. I don't know how DH put up with my smell for so long. Unfortunately now I have two neighbors who smoke on their balcony and it blows right into my house. It does drive me nuts but I can never look down or resent them for it. Truthfully, I feel so sorry for the people who just don't know there is a better alternative now. It makes me sad to know the suffering they are bring down on themselves and their loved ones. I feel smokers deserve compassion, just like everyone else :)

Wait'll you see how ex-smokers react to your vaping. In my experience there are exceptions but, in general:

non-smokers think it's cool and want to know how it works and what's in the juice etc. Then they ask when you are going to quit smoking.
smokers want to know whether it works and what it costs
ex-smokers act like you're cheating and make comments like, "But, you're still addicted."

The easy reply to that is, "That's not what bothered me about smoking."

My step-dad-in-law decided one day to just put cigarettes down and never touch them again. For him, it worked. He seems to believe this should work for everyone, though, and has a superiority complex about it. I, on the other hand, try to have a less arrogant approach about things. If a smoker approaches me about it, sure, I'll point them in the right direction, but I'm not going to go out of my way to make them feel like a piece of :censored: about it.

That pretty much sums it up.

And what I do not say to them in reply is "But you will continue to fight your cravings for the rest of your life."
I could say it, and it would probably be true in many if not most cases, but I don't say it.

Yes, when you are smoking real cigarettes-you get so used to it (the smell) but when you switch to vaping...suddenly you're like "Holy Crap, I smelled like THAT all those years??"

I noticed I could taste my food better-flavors were coming through that didn't before.... my sense of smell drastically improved....so many improvements -I personally noticed once I started vaping and put the ciggies down.
:D

It's quite amazing!
