First let me say that I wish I could apologize to every non-smoker I ever kissed!

I started smoking before I started kissing... A couple years before, as a matter of fact. I have dated mostly, but not all, smokers during the time I smoked, and even quit a few brief times, but never really dated when I wasn't smoking.

When I first started vaping, I was a dual user with no intention of quitting analogs... And soon began dating a smoker, who would share a cigarette with me before we kissed. About a month ago, after I hit that "This is so disgusting and disappointing" epiphany while sharing a cigarette with her... I stopped, one drag in, and handed it back to her.

Before the next time I saw her, I had gathered a basic setup for her, as she expressed an interest in switching to vaping. She did good for quite awhile on just vaping, but she wasn't satisfied by it and she was ready to switch back as soon as someone offered her some rolling tobacco. Oops.

A couple days later we actually shared our first kiss since she had started smoking again and omg! I mean I'm not going to pressure her into switching back to vaping just to please me but omg, that taste, lol

Perhaps the most shocking to me was actually the smell of it , I've been thinking "damn is that how bad I smelled the last 8-9 years"

Exactly. I had the same reaction when I tried a cig after two months of vaping just to see if I'd still liked it. It was awful tasting but the smell on my fingers afterwards drove me nuts.

I only smoked about 7 cigarettes per day on average.
And had no pressing need to quit doing so.

But my wife often complained about my "stank" after coming back inside from smoking a cigarette.

I used to think she was full of crap, because I was the ultimate "no smoke on me" smoker.
I would hold the cigarette above my head, and all other sorts of contortions.

But in the end, I now KNOW that I must have stunk.
Now I don't.

oh gosh YES, me too... now that i know what it's like being on the other end of that scenario.

My wife still smokes a PaD and I cant abide the smell of smoke on people now, but oddly enough I am not bothered by it when kissing her. I guess that means I still love her?
hehehe, how wonderful...!

but I admit it - you're better than me. I can't stand being anywhere NEAR the smell now, when someone comes inside after going out for a smoke it is gag-inducing to me now. I don't say anything, cause of course their choice is their business. But I sure do notice to myself how overwhelming the stench is, even from a couple feet away. (am also kinda horrified that i used to put forth that stench too.) - I'm no longer able to get physically close to it now, or kiss a smoker.

I was a smoker for years but the partner never smoked. I've never kissed a smoker, but I feel bad for all the times I was kissed as a smoker.
My partner gave up a couple of years ago and has been great about me smoking, but I guess I must have tasted pretty horrid. Now off cigs almost one week (ONE WHOLE WEEK! Can hardly believe it!) and hoping I taste better now. Must ask him! LOL.

Hey, how do you get that cool QUIT banner into your posts?

Love this topic!

My boyfriend is a smoker. He is actually the one who convinced me to get into vaping. He wanted to make the switch so I bought a Halo starter kit in support and funny enough, I stayed on the vape and he didn't.

Every, single time he kisses me after a cigarette I feel like I have to come up for air immediately. It makes me gasp...it is that bad! Although I will say, my sense of smell has come back and he doesn't stink all the time. Just fresh after an analog.

The problem is that no matter how many cigs you smoke , it catches your clothes , remains there and you can't rid of the smell until you wash them , not to mention what it does to your furniture , I used to be 1 of those who smokes at home making their all apartment smell like hell .

Dittos on the "smell" my nail lady commented yesterday how much better my chanel no 5 smelled (that's a back handed "you used to stink of smokes" but it's ok I know I did) On a good note we got on her phone and ordered an set up for her hubby who's been wanting to quit and they figured if me and my guy did (who in his own words "I smoke like a broke stove" *lol* )could do it..he could too!! Adding one more to the "Mission" :)

we're up to 8 or so now...take that Big Tobacco and yayyye for their health!

Ryedan, what kind of dog is your fur baby?
avatar87774_11.gif

we have a four month old Olde English Bulldogge 1/2 french Matiff girl baby and she's 100% bull dogge *lol* a hot mess, they're a new learning experience from Mastiff's (we have her best friend a six month old French Mastiff male too) is that an American Bull?

Sadie get's the merle coat from the australian shepherd in her. It's hard to know what she's mixed with but we think it may be some kind of hound because of the way she howls sometimes. She weighs 65 pounds so she's way bigger than a pure bred aussie shepherd. She was rescued from somewhere in Ohio just before she was scheduled to be put down and brought up here to a foster home in Ontario. She had a rough first seven months of life. At 22 pounds she was so skinny you could count all her ribs from 30 paces and the vet said the growth plates in her legs had closed early.

We adopted her two months later. Didn't take long to work through a few little issues she still had, get her weight up a bit more, train her to retrieve balls and in the process realize that she really loved to run. And to hog the bed. She's a great dog :)

My wife still smokes, and that's fine with me. I still kiss her like the first time we kissed, and the cig smell doesn't bother me at all. I'm not concentrating on the smell on her lips, just that her lips are on mine, and still trying to figure out how to unclasp her bra without acting like a teenager.
