I've been smoking a good 2 cartons of Basic Ultra Light Shorts a week for quite some time. Am trying to figure out what I should order to keep me for a good 2-3 weeks at least.

Before I order a few questions.
1. How often do you change attys?
2. How often will it be necessary to replace carts?
3. What mg juice would be appropriate to compare with the way I've been going?
4. Anything else I need to be sure and get?

Thanks!

1. How often do you change attys?
You don't have to change attys until it dies out. Atty life is pretty inconsistent and it seems like sometimes you get lucky and will have one last months while other times you'll get unlucky and have one die on you after a week or two, i've heard some even die after one day. I think as long as you keep it wet, it should last a good while.

2. How often will it be necessary to replace carts?
Replace as in buy new carts? You don't have to replace them until they're starting to fit loose or their edges are melted. The melted edges usually won't happen if you put them into the atty right.

3. What mg juice would be appropriate to compare with the way I've been going?
I was a Marlboro Lights 100's smoker and started with 18mg but found that, that wasn't enough for me. I switched to 24mg and it works better for me. It's different for everyone, some people who smoked Reds prefer using 12mg! So I'd suggest starting somewhere in the middle (18mg) and tinkering from there. Or you could buy 24mg and dilute it down if it's too strong and end up with more juice.

4. Anything else I need to be sure and get?
a couple of back up attys. get 2 or 3 extra. get 5 extra carts. extra filler. and maybe one back up battery. =] make sure you have some back up hardware so that you're never without, also at least one 30ml bottle of e-juice. =] from there, you should be good to go initially and then will be able to explore and see which essentials you need to restock up on periodically. =]

Thanks!

Good luck and welcome! =D

1: Hard to answer, it is very different from person to person, even if they smoked the same. Generally, they last from a week or so to a few months.

2: If you are refilling your carts, you won't need many. I received 5 with my kit and bought another 10 blanks. After 2 months, I still have most of them unopened.

3: I recommend buying a high (36-48mg) juice and a no-nic juice. You can start higher and begin mixing down to find the level that is right for you.

4: Get an extra battery and at least 5-6 extra atomizers. Try a few different juice flavors. Some flavors you think you might like, you will hate and vice-versa.

Good luck.

3 extra atomizers.
A few samples of e-liquid. Why buy 30ml of something before you know if you like it?

If you choose an ego set that comes with a low resistance atomizer, please note that they discharge the battery faster. This means the batteries life expectancy will be lower. Which means to purchase your next battery as soon as one of the two you have fails to keep a charge for 2 hours.
Make sure the kit you purchase comes with a wall charger, so that you are not plugging into your computer. Sometimes this cause problems. Better to be safe than sorry.
When you get your kit, remember to blow through the open end of the atomizer (holding the threaded end in a papertowel/napkin) and blow, blow blow. Get the primer out of there. Drip 2 drops of liquid on the mesh in the atomizer, put on the cart(filled with e-liquid) and vape. Good Luck and great pv choice.

I just suggested they get a 30ml of juice because they wanted to know what to get to last them around 2-3 weeks. usually getting a tobacco flavored e-juice (usually the brand you use to smoke) when you first start should hold you up for a while once you start your quest on trying different flavors.

My recommendation as someone still suffering from newbitis is to get cartomizers for any unique flavors you may try. Once you get some of these flavors into your atomizers, it takes some work to get them out and it could be potentially discouraging if everything you vape has an underlay of cinnamon.

I'm also a big fan of sampler packs, especially at first. Even if they give it a name that sounds like your former cigarette brand, there is no real taste equivalent between cigarettes and vaping, so rather than focusing on a brand or a taste per se, it's almost a zen "feel" that you're going to get from vaping that is equivalent to what you got from your cigarette, and just calling it Marbo or Nupor isn't necessarily going to carry over for you in the same way it does others. Once you find a liquid you like, then you can get a bigger bottle of it, and use the rest of the samplers you have to get you through until the bigger bottle gets mailed out, and as your taste buds change you may find down the road on re-trying that suddenly some of them taste good to you after all.

Low resistance atomizer? Don't remember seeing reference made to that. Is the difference drastic?

Thanks for the heads up on the usb charger. Don't want that. Just got a new desktop! That would kill me.

I wouldn't advise getting a low resistance atomizer just yet. Wait till you're ready to take the risks, as described then decide if you really need it. I say this b/c the eGo packs a pretty good vapor & TH as is. Your original attys should last at least a month or more. Read in the FAQ's and stickies how to and when to clean them. I used the Crest mouthwash method a few days ago, and it got rid of cinnamon and spearmint leftover flavor that the hot water method would not.

Look at the kit contents and see if the AC charger doesn't include the USB charger, as mine did (genuine Joye eGo).

The extra attys you'll need eventually, but if you aren't ordering a 10 flavor sample pack, then the 2 you get with the kit should be good for a few weeks. Be warned though! Once you get the bug for flavored e-juice, you'll need 'em. Might a s well order at least a few when you order a bunch of juice. Then throw in a drip tip while you're shopping. Makes it easier to sample a bunch of flavors in the tasting phase.

Welcome aboard!

I know Smitti. It was only about 3-1/2 weeks go that I was in the same spot as you. The amount of information available was just confusing me even more. I got lucky and someone was having a clearance sale of sorts of the eGo when I joined and I had gleaned enough info to know that was a good choice, so I snagged one of those, a couple samplers of juice, and some blank cartridges. I wouldn't worry too much about a whole lot else until you get your eGo in your hands, and then a lot will make sense and make the choices easier.

Within a week, I knew it was going to work for me regarding eliminating analogs (down to one a day now), and so I went ahead and picked up another RiVa the next week and some cartomizers, and have now found my daily juice and have bought a big bottle of that, yet another RiVa, bunches of cartomizers, a 510, and a passthrough. And, of course, a few more bottles of fun juice.

Give yourself a chance to get your PV in your hands with a variety of juice, and then you can fine-tune it to meet your specific needs.

 OK. I think I speak for most all semi-noobie vapers when I say don't try to get it all at once, you'll just lose your ever-lovin' mind.

One more thing I would recommend your kit contains (many do) is to be sure you get 2 batts, 2 atty's, 2 cones, a charger and 5 carts. Add some flavored juice other than tobacco flavors. That's all you really need at 1st.

There are so many brands of eGo, or eGo-centric pv's, I don't think it really matters, but if you just want to be sure, get the Joye eGo kit.
