i use v4l 808's and ego for510. I think the higher voltage of the v4l batteries gives me a little more "oomph" and throat hit than the ego batteries do. But the ego batteries do last longer, so there's the tradeoff in my opinion. i don't have a riva, but I've heard that the riva offers 3.7volts vs. the ego's 3.2-3.4. the v4l batteries come off the charger at 4.1 and only get down to 3.5-3.7right before they die.
Also if you're looking for vapor and throat hit, that's often more a function of your juice than the PV. More VG=more vapor, More nicotine and/or PGA =more throat hit

Don't buy an Ego......Do yourself a favor, Buy the Ego batteries, A couple of cones, Maybe a couple of tips and buy Boge LR Cartos. Boge 510 Cartomizer You'll be happy.....That's my opinion. If you really wanna get crazy, replace the Ego batteries with a GLV Supermini.
You can get Boges from Puresmokers. If you wanna stay with the V4L batteries check out Nhalers KR808D-1 JUMBOCARTOMIZERS These work great with the V4L Batteries.

Thats' my opinion, Good Luck

    in a cave, eh?
You might be happy with an Echo-E manual battery system. It vapes at 4.2 volts vs. the Ego's 3.4. The vape is definitely warmer. The Echo-E has 510 connections, so the suggestions for Boge 510 Cartomizers still work. Although, you might like the Echo-E atomizers as well.

MadVapes has a reasonably priced variable voltage box mod (510 threaded), if you want to try playing around with that. Maybe add a MAP tank to go with your system.

You guys realize this is the Liberty Flights sub forum right? It doesn't seem polite to refer people to another supplier here. IMO.

bklyn - I started with V4L as well, and you have several options to change things up. Getting a Ego or T-rex set up with Boge 510 cartomizers & filling with your own e-juices works very well, and Lib Flights has good prices on all those items. They also have Boge cartomizers for your existing set up that you can fill yourself.
Also, a Riva 901 is similar to an Ego - and your V4L cartomizers will fit on it (if you have some you need to use up!).
    All good choices!

I agree with the Riva 901. I have some V4L batteries and cartos, and the cartos fit right up on the 901. Haven't had to use one of the 901 to 808 adapters whatsoever yet. Haven't noticed a big difference with those V4L batteries v/s the 901, except the 901 lasts and lasts between charges and the draw of the 808 cartos seems less "airy" on the Riva. Different strokes for different folks, I reckon.

I'm deathly in love with my 901. LR cartos are nomalicious with it and it lasts forever and a day. It's mah baby! Though now I'm eyeballing that T-Rex... may be a fight for my true love.

Keener, I really like the 901, but I've gotta tell ya, the T-REX rocks!! I have a "few" of them now, and they are by far my most favorite of the "ego" style PVs. You can use an adapter on the T-rex (510 to 901) and still get to use up your 808 cartos too...

Well that puts that to rest. Yup, I'm definitely grabbing a T-REX (now about that money sit-chee-ashun, D'oh!). I gave the adapter idea a bit of a thought (already grabbed a few of different ones for future possibilities, several different batt-atty/carto setups). Though, if I may threadjack for a second (and I apologize ahead of time, quite sorry!), I do have one question I'd like to get put to rest before I jump in like a slobberin' mad dog on a slab of steak...

Anybody know if the T-REX and its cone fit well over an 808 cartomizer? My 901's cone rubs a bit on most of the stickered 808 cartos (and some of the stickerless ones, as well). I'm a bit of a stickler for the full-bodied look the cone gives and would like to use it with whatever I'm slapping on the threads.

I definitely go for a big throat hit and it took a little while but feel absolutely satisfied with an eGo and use the Low Resistance Atomizer. The LR atomizer and the PG 24mg liquid gives as much of a throat hit as my analogs did. I too quit analogs recently and I really had a hard time not having a satisfying throat hit until I found that combo.

The Trex cone does fit better than Ego cones over cartomizers whether they're 808s or 510 style. Also, the Riva cones that Liberty flights sells for their 901 version are shorter & a little teeny bit fatter, so that the 808 cartos fit better.

Have to agree. Either set up is great. The 901 needs no adapter for 808 cartos, and the 510-901/808 adapters for either T-Rex or Riva 510's are adjustable for your personal preference of airflow. :)

Riva 510 with boge lr cartos worked well for me, decent power/warmth and run time between recharges. I never bothered with the cones, just passed them along to others. An eGo with LR would undoubtedly also be good.
(I'm a carto person, just never got into atties and dripping. I also don't bother replacing the rubber mouth pieces, pop them out and toss them in a baggie when I open a new carto -- after a while you pretty much learn what works, it's very rare for me to get any juice in my mouth.)

If you're used to 808 batteries, not sure how the Riva 901 with your existing cartos would work, what the current Riva battery characteristics are like. I half expect you'll want some LR cartos.

LF has excellent prices and CS, you'll be in good hands picking up gear from them.

I have been on an eGo for a few weeks now. I would highly recommend it, but I would also say, get a drip tip and a five pack of boge lr cartos. This way u can use the attys for tasting new juices. The cartos are a lot better imo. I had a friend at work order the t-rex cartos kit and he loves it! Can't go wrong really with either set up. Just depends on the pg/vg ratio of your juice and the ohm rating on your carto or atty

I've got one of the Silver Riva SEs. Prefer using Boge 510 cartos (2.0 and 3.0 work great) when out and about, attys for dripping at home (dewicked one, left another stock). The attys are great for testing new flavors.

I prefer to run w/o the cone personally, but the Riva 510 cone will fit over 510 cartos with plenty of room for airflow. The ego, with its regulated 3.4v, will run a little cooler than a 3.7 Riva with comparable cartos, but the hit with LR is still really nice.

I also run with a drip tip on my attys and cartos, makes topping off very easy. And with the manual, SEALED battery that the Riva/eGo have, it won't ruin the battery if a little juice settles at the bottom of the carto.
