Okay, so here's the issue I have been having.....

I have four ego batteries going.....three that are 650mAh, one 900mAh.
It seems like none of them are holding a charge quite as long as they ought to. They are only about three months old!!! They are great at the beginning of the day, but towards mid day or....about the third or fourth session on any given battery, the flavor becomes somewhat muted and there is less vapor. It makes me think I have vapor's tongue.....but then I get a freshly charged battery in my hands and all the flavor and vapor returns! What the heck??? I ordered two STAM ego1100mAh batteries from madvapes yyesterday. So.....two questions:
1. Will I have better luck with these batteries???
2. What on earth does STAM ego batteries even mean (vs. Regular ego)...

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

No idea what STAM means. A brand name? The minimum I suggest for a starter battery any more is an eGo Twist/Vision Spinner/Smok Winder variable voltage type battery. I think the power will hold up better through the life of the charge than something with a set voltage.

Get yourself a spinner or a twist. Mine tend to hold up pretty good and at 1300mah one of them lasts me all day after 3 months of use. I rotate 4 of them. A regular ego will put out less voltage as the battery is drained. That is why they seem to get weaker as the day goes on. They are losing power and do not maintain consistent voltage.

    I figured that from a reputable vendor like Mad Vapes, they are probably better quality??? I cannot afford anything really expensive right now.

    About the same price-
    Joyetech Joye eGo-C Upgrade Passthrough 650mAh

    Now, lets talk heads- Dual coils draw alot of power and you'll get less time out of the battery. Anything under 2.0 OHMS draw alot also.

    Personally, I only use 3-4 hours out of them before recharging- with a 2.0 ohm carto.

    As far as heads go, I am currently using ce4's that I believe have a standard 2.4ohm rating. I have eVod heads on the way, 2.4ohm installed, with a ten pack of 1.8 ohm replacement coils....so I can fool with that a little bit. I am aware that lower ohms equals hotter vape and hotter vape equals greater battery loss faster.

    ~~~~I realized that might not have been clear. The batteries I currently have are not from Madvapes, just the batteries (STAM ego 1100mAh that are on the way).
    Joyetech saves you money in the long run... so when you're ready go here:
    1000mAh $21
    https://www.cignot.com/product_p/egc-ub1-all.htm
    650mAh $17
    https://www.cignot.com/product_p/egc-ubt-all.htm
    The 'upgrade' batt has the best short and charge protection for ego type batts. It has an led button that changes color as the batt loses charge - from white to light blue to dark blue - nice to know when you're heading out. 5 click on/off feature. And it has two modes - a regulated constant 3.4V mode - works well with the Kanger 1.8 ohm coils for strong flavors and 2.2 ohm coils for lighter flavors. The other mode is unregulated - basically runs at 3.7V and you can still run the 1.8 ohm coils for a bit more punch to your stronger flavors..... coffee/espresso, stronger tobacco flavors....
    Most of mine have lasted close to a year and only begin losing charge time in the last month or so. When they are on their last legs, the button led will begin to fade.... Cignot has a pretty good warranty time and Joyetech has a 6 month warranty for all hardware except LR attys. You have to ship them to china though but if you have a few, use the cheapest shipping and they will replace - unless you mangled them of course.... ;)
