Appears extremely easy to rebuild as well (no mesh to deal with).

The silica wick on the octopus is about as easy as they come..you are wrapping a 8 mm wick!

You know, I was really intimidated by SS wicks. I was sure I was going to end up with a silica wick in my new RSST. I watched Phil B's review of the RSST and noticed he did a SS build. Looked easy... the only tricky part, I thought, was getting the wick small enough to fit. Once I did, the rest was easy and it's vaping awesome. I actually think a SS build is easier than recoiling an eVod.

My issue with mesh is the burning you really need to do. I don't have a torch or a good work station to torch the mesh. I'm also afraid of top coil RBAs because I've had no luck with top coil tanks (I use thick juice -- can't handle PG) and I've heard they leak. I also like juice that is bad for polycarbonate tanks because of the high vg content in my juice. Having said that, the rsst looks like a great unit if you go that rout. I am curious if one would work for me but I don't want to spend the money to find out.

I jumped right in like a month ago and got a trident and a k100. Trident has lots of room to work with and tons of smoke but other rbas may be better. I might start a clone trident looking back to save some cash. I bought 30 and 28 guage kanthal and 2mm and 3mm ecowool on ebay. Silica was nasty to me. I prefer the 28 guage and 3mm with a microcoil setup. People may laugh, I'm a noob and still learning. All I know is I have a provari that i used to love that now sits dormant and I've been having so much fun learning.

I used the pulse method to get the wick ready...saw it in that video and it worked fairly well.

As for wicking, plenty of people run 100% vg in gennies, it's just a matter of the right type wick

Oh, the RSST had a PP tank, so it should be ok.
