never new about e cigs until I saw it at a truck stop, from njoy. My question is I would like to get a reliable one that looks like a cigarette but it looks like it would be costly considering that a cartridge appears to last only 6-10 cigarettes. I would like to get one that could use liquid, as that seems it would be a cost effective alternative, however the maintenance issue seems like it could be costly too. how often does the atomnizer last or battery. so many sites out there and this forum of bad places to get an ecig. plz any suggestions:confused:

Well, you will be happy to know you can put your own liquid in any e-cigarette, including the dse-901, dse-801, pee wee, or any other variation. Just drip the liquid onto the fiber inside the cartridge.

The maintenance issue is more complicated. It depends on how often you smoke and how you smoke. You can extend the life of your atomizer by placing it in a cup turned cartridge side down at night while you sleep. Batteries are tricky. I have my own home-made battery pack that i soldered together with a battery connector.

Think about it this way, the larger the e-cig you buy, the more durable and long lasting it will be, and the more vapor it will shoot out.

IMO the best compromise of price/performance is the dse901 or dse901b. I'm on two weeks on two of my atomizers with no signs of stopping. My batteries get less use now because i made my own battery pack, but they last for several hours also. Overall, e-smoking is cheaper, but there is a bigger initial investment. For about a month plan to spend about as much as you would on cigarettes, after that it will be considerably less.

When you buy a kit make sure to buy an extra atomizer, at least a 10ml bottle of juice (start on about 11mg) and an extra battery if you can afford it. That should be all you need for about a month besides 1 or 2 more 10ml bottles of juice (about 9.99 each).

So
50.00 dse901 starter kit
10.00 10ml bottle of juice
10.00 extra atomizer
10.00 shipping
~$80

I buy my stuff from steve at PureSmoker.com - Your #1 Source For ECigs, Parts, & Accessories!. Good luck!

Hi kg1967,

Firstly I take it that you already smoke tobacco - if not then you really don't want to be messing about with nicotine!

You seem very worried about cost. I would argue that the start-up costs can be high but it gets cheaper as you get into it (unless you fall into the trap of buying new gadgets all the time!)

The main thing to be aware of is that it takes time to get used to vaping - there is a learning curve. You'll save a lot of time, money and grief if you read this forum for a day or two before buying anything.

Whatever you decide - good luck!:)
