Hello all! First of all i would like to thank anyone for there help ahead of time. Currently i have come to a conundrum about my future in e-smoking. I currently have a Lava tube with a VIVI nova and dont get me wrong i am enjoying the setup however im looking for bigger and better stuff. Regardless i have noticed a lot of the vet members here and also a lot of the videos with more experienced members using carto tanks...

Now I know this looks like a OOHHHH SHINNYYYY moment however my true questions is im looking at the ACTV3 due to build, it looks like an amazing carto tank. but the $$$ is pricey 50 bucks to start it..

SOOOOO what is the diffrence.. why are some more exp. people using carto tanks over things like the vivi nova.. pros cons of the 2 if any? vapor diffrence??? flavor diffrence?? what do you all think about my possible next step in ecig world??

opinions/exp/and offers are all greatly appreciated thank you for your time..

The reason that you see more carto tanks is because they have been around quite a while longer than the so-called clearo/vision/vivi nova tanks. I think both types have their place in vaping. With the carto tanks being around the longest, they are sort of the tried-and-true veterans. Most of their issues have for the most part been solved. Differences in this type of tank seems to be the size of the carto used (or rather, the length), single or dual coil (I've even seen triple-coils for sale), grommet ends or metal end caps, and with/without juice fill holes.

I personally only have carto tanks, and primarily a tank vapor. I've kinda been just watching the development of the VIVI nova type tanks as they work out their development bugs.

I've had pretty good luck with the newer Smoktech style DCT tanks. They are more cost effective (I have about 10 tanks, all with their own flavor juice) in the $12-15 range. They come with polypropylene (syringe or frosted plastic) tubing which is stronger and safe for using juices known to melt polycarbonate tanks. Available in clear frosted or frosted colors (for bling or keeping track of different juices at a glance). I got mine at My Vapor Store and PB Dragon.

The key to great tank vaping is effecient, consistant delivery of juice to the carto atomizers. And the trick to acheive that is figuring out what size hole, how many holes, punched vs slotted, pre-punched or do-it-yourself, single or dual coil, pg/vg juice mixtures, etc (the list goes on and on). My point is: despite being around for some time now, there is a lot of variability in what *will work for you or someone else.

I tend to get too long winded, so I'm gonna stop here. If you have specific questions I can try to help answer them. I have looked at the ACTV3 tanks. They look to be a high quality tank. I like the screw on caps for easy filling, nice tank for a beginner. I don't care for the polycarbonate tube, but that is a personal preference.

For that price range, I'd spring a few more bucks towards a Phiniac tank. You get pyrex, bling looks, high quality end caps, and something that just might last a lifetime.

Good vaping.

Thank you very much for your input. I am a person who enjoys a good read so the more info the better :p. So basically speaking it seams as though most users for the carto tanks are users due to "sticking to the norm" or "pride and true" if you will, then any other real specific reason? i understand the clearo's are new and some bugs definetly noted. however with my vivi i havent had much problems, just looking into newer things to expand my grasp and find the true thing that works for me.. so maybe ill try the dct tank to get a feel for it.. then if i like it move on to the actv3
