I'm getting ready to make the leap to a Provari.

I've been vaping since August so a lot of this stuff is brand new to me. So I'm thinking of buying the whole set up kit found here:
ProVape-1 Beginners Kit

I think that looks simple for a newbie. But one thing I didn't see with it that I saw on just some of the batteries is the battery extender so you can just hook up your battery easily between charges. And I didn't see it as a simple item you could purchase separately.

So I'm asking the experts. Is that Beginner's setup good to go? Will I be happy with that for the long term or should I opt for something else and (DREAD) order parts separately?

Thanks!

The model everyone raves about is the ProVari or ProVari Mini, and you're looking at a ProVape-1.
Nothing wrong with it - I'm sure it's an excellent device - but it is not variable voltage, which most people want...
Just checking to be sure you'd be getting what you think you're getting!!

Thanks. That's why I posted here! Cuz I would not have been happy if I got it and it wasn't variable vape!

So it looks like I'm going to have to buy things separately. Dangit!

Since I'm going to be investing ... should I go for the rebuildable one then too?

The ProVari has a "kit" too - that comes with a ProTank. It is more $...
You might be happy with the ProTank - it's shiny silver and glass :)

I'm not the guy to advise regarding rebuildables - I know that's a good unit, but I built a couple coils, then decided it wasn't for me...
Just not my thing! So I use ProTanks, and Carto-tanks - and replace the coils or cartos when they wear out for a couple bucks...

No... in all honesty, this is the one you want if you want the whole kit:
ProVari Variable Voltage Electronic Cigarette Starter Kit V2.5

I bought my charger and batteries elsewhere, and because I already had a Protank 2 (which I don't like). But if you get a Provari, get either a 2.5 Provari or the Provari mini. It's a pretty big difference.

If you are new to vaping, I'd start out with a MPV2... it's only $35 or so on sale, and a GREAT little unit too.... but it's also a throwaway. It will give you the time to decide whether you really are quit and will want to keep vaping. When the battery dies, you can't replace it. Mine's on its last leg and it's all of 2 months old. But I loved it for 2 months and just got a new one:).

The Provari is not throw away, and judging by all the comments, you should have it for years (I haven't had it for years to say). Over time, I think you will save money having it, WHILE enjoying the vape the entire time and all its benefits. As you put it yourself, it's an investment, not a temporary patch.

What 'rebuildable' one? Provari is a battery... you are talking about the atomizer? I wouldn't do that if you are brand new to vaping yet, because then you'll need a lot more stuff and a whole new skill set too.

You might want to start out with a carto tank or a Vivi Nova BDC - the GLASS one (looks like this: Aspire BDC Vivi Nova-S Pyrex Glass Bottom Dual Coil Tank ), which is simple, inexpensive and works well immediately. Then you can look at all the HUGE array of choices out there while having something to vape while you decide:).

I love the ProVape-1. Have 2. Once you know your juices and coil resistance, not having VV isn't an issue.

For a beginner, though, I'd go with a ProVari starter kit. I wouldn't start out with re-buildables, but that's just me. Learn how to use the ProTank 2 it comes with it; once mastered, try other toppers.

Thanks! Just the way I like it. SIMPLE :2cool:

I noticed that this kit doesn't have the optional battery extender either. And when I do a search on their site, nothing comes up for an extender. I wonder if it's just something they sell with the new individual battery?

I'm not sure what you mean by "extender".
It sounds like you're thinking of a "pass-thru"? To plug into a computer for power while the battery charges?
Anyway - the kit comes with TWO batteries, but the device uses 1 - use 1 while the other is charging.

The other choices are also important:
-Do you like the MINI or the Regular (smaller batteries in Mini)
-Do you want the "extended cap" (lets either model also use 1 size larger battery)
-What color?

Ok, I just went through the same dilemma...

The "Kit" really wasn't that much cheaper. I put what I thought I wanted in vs the Kit and to be honest, you will not use the smaller batteries that come with the kit.

My highly recommendation goes for:

1. Provari Mini
2. The End Cap
3. The 2 18490/18500 batteries. I got 2.
4. Pila Charger

Or buy the cheaper charger if funds dictate.

I got the smaller batteries because I thought I would use them for the bar but have never used them. IMO, the smaller batteries are a waste.

The Mini has the most versatility so get it over the regular one.

Either one you get you cant go wrong. Some of us prefer the mini because we can still go big if we want (battery). Others prefer the standard. I ccant show it to you in 18490 mode since I don't have the batteries for that. But the mini would be well....the mini + extender cap only = 18490.

I like the small form factor. When I got my first one, to save money I didn't get and extended cap, I figured I would get one later. It's been almost a year and I don't want one. 18350 batteries last me about 5 hours and if I'll be out longer than that I bring a couple of extras in a battery case. They are smaller than a tube of lipstick.

I don't have a Tatroe base or any of the fancy stuff. I use carto tanks, Protanks and I've been playing around with a couple of the new BCC, just for fun, my vape is fine without them.

The smaller 18350 batteries have their place, but they aren't for everyone. I like the 18490's - if I chain-vape all day I get ~15 hours out of them, but I just swap batteries 2x a day & never worry about carrying extras. I'd also say skip the rebuildables to begin with. If you have any knowledge/background in electronics they'll be pretty easy to pick up, but I'd still recommend getting a carto-tank setup for starters. You can always add a rebuildable to the collection later.

I'd also recommend perusing Baditude's blog (E-Cigarette Forum - Baditude - Blogs), especially articles 1-5 (note they're listed backwards).

I think you are one of the most sensible vapers around. You know what you like and pretty much stick to it without jumping all over the place trying every suggestion known to mankind.

Hey! I know what I like too. I just want to see what everyone else likes out of curiosity:).
