I was at a local Race Track Convenience store today and I noticed they are selling njoy e-cigs and the price was 17.99 for a starter kit.

I decided to look up the njoy e-cig on line and notice it is going to much more and I am wonder what gives?

Is that the right price? What does the kit come with? How much are refill cartridges?

How do the cartridges compare to regular cigarettes?

Thanks for the help.

Don't go with the NJoy. You might be lucky enough to be near a store that sells quality e-cigarettes, but your best options are generally online. You're not going to be happy when you start looking for accessories for the NJoy.

If you need something that looks like a cigarette, consider the Volt from SmokelessImage.com. It's a KR808D-1 model and there are plenty of sites that offer accessories for it.

Battery life is generally a concern for e-cigarettes. With the minis, the batteries generally last a few hours, so you may find yourself charging the thing several times a day. If you're ok with something a little bigger, i.e. about the size of a Sharpie, consider the Riva 510 from Liberty-Flights.com. It has way better battery life.

There are lots sites that sell e-juice, you may want to start with Vapor4Life for your refills.

    Does this help?

I say go for it if it's your first. It'll give you an idea of what vaping is all about. Then you can invest in a nicer one if you choose you like it. They aren't the best things in the world but at the same time for 17.99, you can't expect much. Though if you want something similar and a few bucks cheaper you could try the kr808d-1 or 510 manual starter kit for 10 bucks here's the links.
    808-D Starter Kit
    Manual 510 Starter e-Cig Kit

Though I do know the appeal of instant gratification. Though either way will get you an idea of what vaping is with minimal investment.

As to how e-cigarettes compare to regular cigarettes, you'll find you won't get the same taste from the e-liquid tobacco flavors as you do from your regular cigarettes. But, there are lots of really good flavors available; there's way more variety than regular cigarettes. You don't get all that tar in your lungs and if you don't go crazy buying new equipment and accessories, you should find it cheaper than smoking. E-cigarettes can certainly help cut down on the number of cigarettes you normally smoke in a day.

Often people find they start with a cheap e-cigarette that falls short so they quickly purchase another kit. If you start with the Volt or the Riva 510 (both of which are reasonably priced), you might be happy with those models for a while.

I bought one out of curiosity and it was a 20$ mistake. There is only one cartomizer included and a battery stopped work properly after a second charge. It turnes itself off and don't provide enough power to heat cartomizer.
I've used this battery for about an hour total. The Only positive thing is the puffing is a very easy like on analog cigarette.

NJoy Npro aka 2-n-1 is an RN4081 and you can get plain Rn4081 parts. I actually heard Njoy was going out of business - someone on ECF said that? You can get some RN4081 stuff at AZSmokeFree (manual batteries here), Aquacaporcig, Vaporkings.com, Smokestik.

The RN4081 is not as well supported as KR808D-1, the more popular 2-piece. New styles of cartos are usually offered in KR808D-1 threading but not in RN4081 threading.

Someone posted that a crappy e-cig will just turn you off to the idea... Up to you... Know that to kick cigs you will need to always have charged batteries, carrying cases and plenty of cartridges or juice to make your own--one kit won't cut it. The ECF library really explains the different types well (there's 6 parts). My thoughts: look over the types, see how much you really want to quit smoking/how much initial money you want to spend, then re-post with some specifics.

    Like:
    1) Are you determined to quit or just want to try it
    2) Budget
    3) How much a day you smoke
    4) Does it have to look like a real cigarette?
    etc...

And people will have some great tips here...

You know that isn't a bad price, for a (....ty) e cig but you can do a lot better. I bought a gas station disposable after some technical difficulties (they happen) and I hated the generic flavor but it worked, and it kept me from bumming a bunch of smokes that now taste horrid to me.
If I wanted something that looked more or less like a cig and had to start all over again I'd buy two of these : 808-D Starter Kit toss the pre-filled cartos they come with and buy a couple packs of Smok Tech Black 808 Cartomizer and then a bunch of small bottles of juice form their USA smoke juice section.

If it is the NPRO model with the "DUO" - "2N1" cartridges, then I would say stay away from it. If it is the older style with separate "ATOMIZER", then you might get it. Although I just bought a 510-t (tank) and am much happier with this one.
The "2N1" cartridge type has the heater and rolled up cotton together in the cartridge. If you try to refill this cartridge, you are going to be seriously ...... off.
However the older style with the "atomizer" has an easily refillable cartridge, but, you have to refill it all the time.
You don't get as much of a smoking experience with these things, as you do with say the 510-T.
Also the cartridge replacements are sky high expensive. I just purchased a pack of 5, I say again, 5 DUO - "2n1" cartridges for $25.00 bucks. The darn cartridges only lasted about as long as 1 cigarette. And some of the cartridges didn't work at all. So do the math, and you will see how much a smoking habit is gonna costa ya with these things.

I give 5 thumbs down for this NJOY product: :nah::nah::nah::nah::nah:
