There's RDA, RBA RTA..lots of acronyms.
I recommend starting with something small like the Octopus (or smok RDA) its a nice little basic RDA, the stock airflow is pretty junk but if you drill out another airhole on the other side of it..its truly a great vape

It turns a 10 dollar rda into an rda i would pay 20-25 for. I've been vaping on it for the past day or two just because I saw it sitting in my vape shelf and figured i'd build it since I have it.
Another good setup would be something in the IGO line. I love my IGO-W..its another great vape. It has dual coil capabilities but I enjoy just building a single coil and vaping it.
I'll go ahead and give you some links and prices to some rda's that I would recommend.

The Nimbus RDA
The nimbus is out of stock currently, but you can find them at other vendors. These are all great starting points and you don't have to spend an arm and a leg. You can buy kanthal on ebay for relatively cheap (I got 100feet of 30guage today for 6 bucks w/free shipping).
Wicking material is another thing you want to consider, there are multiple materials that can be used. Silica/Ekowool/Stainless steel mesh/organic cotton (or cotton boiled)/hemp ect. A quick search using the ECF search tool at the top right of the page you should be able to find a nice thread with explanations of each. I'll see if I can locate that.
There are a good amount of videos that explain how to build as well. It really isn't that hard to build, it just seems a bit intimidating at first.
Edit- Your mvp has the capability to fire on ohms down to a believe 1.3. I am using a 1.4 ohm build on my mvp right now at 10.5 watts/3.7 volts and it is hitting like a true champ. Remember to read up on some basic ohms law and try starting with 30/32 guage kanthal wire and then go from there, they are the easiest wire to work with and provide a higher ohm/per wrap. I really hope this isn't a lot to take in, once you start reading and whatnot you will see it's not as hard as it looks/sounds.
