So I've been vaping since March and absolutely love it! Started on a evod kit and started using protanks with them.
I just picked up a MVP 2.0 and quite happy with it thus far. The mechanic in me wants to start tinkering with building coils, but my squirrel brain can't seem to focus or decide which way to go! All I'm looking for is the next practical step to take. I'm not interested in sub ohm coils or "cloud chasing" more just into improved flavor and getting away from multiple trips to the vape shop for more blister packs of pre made coils. Also happy with sticking with my MVP while learning about the next progression.

I do have some electrical training(long time ago) and familiar with Ohms law.

So like I said any feedback and past experience is greatly appreciated, I value the amount of experience within this community and up until now have primarily kept my posts to the new members area, but looking for some insight from the more experienced members of the community.

If you took the time to read this post, I say thanks!

For the most part you can use any RDA on your MVP, but remember it will only fire down to 1.1/1.2 ohms i believe. So make sure you get yourself a higher gauge resistance wire because your at 11watts / 5volts max on the MVP so any thicker than 30 gauge will work but take forever to heat up. I would say any RDA that gives you single coil air flow options ( your gonna want to stick with single coils on your MVP trust me ). I think the Trident V1 RDA would be a great starting point. Some 30 gauge wire and some cotton should be the set up you'll need for the next step. I hope this helps and VAPE ON!

I totally agree with Zurd's recommendations.. Get 100 feet of kanthal from temco,
Kanthal Wire 30 Gauge RW0107 - 100 FT 0.39oz Series A-1 Resistance AWG

A lifetime-supply box of CelluCotton (Rayon) from Sally's Beauty Supply
Graham CelluCotton Cotton Coil
DON'T get the 10-foot one, which is cotton, get the 500-foot one!

and a dripper (Read reviews and find one that's easy to coil and wick!) If you want a couple of suggestions:

Magma Clone: $15.31 Magma Style Rebuildable Dripping Atomizer - stainless steel / brass AFC ring at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping
Cerberus: https://www.fasttech.com/product/1802201

The only other thing I would suggest (if you want to go further) would be either some Nichrome80 or Titanium wire.

Well I bought my first igo-w and made my first coil. Reads 2.2. Not pretty but it's a start. Thanks for the input all!

I went a couple of years before I started doing my own coils and now I wonder what took me so long. My vaping experience is so much better with my own coils and cotton wicking...it's just night and day...even on my Evods and Protanks.

It might be an overstatement to say a simple ohms meter, a roll of wire and a bag of cotton balls changed my life, but it kind of has.

I have an MVP and I just started with Kayfun Lite+ v2 (Ehpro) a few weeks ago. Built a 1.9ohm coil and wicked it with organic, unbleached cotton. It's working really well now that I got the hang of wicking.

Yeah, I need to fine tune wicking, last night was fun with borderline frustration! Not sure if it was the new juice(crazy throat hit, which was a surprise seeing I dropped to 12mg from 18mg)or wick and coil combo. Played around, made a few coils and pulled out some older juice and seem to be getting nicer hits.
I guess my expectations were a tad high, I was expecting bliss from my first vape, hahaha not so!
This morning I dropped some old Khalua and cream that I had forgotten about, and it's much nicer than the new juice I picked up.
Looks like the endless stream of vape mail is about to begin, time to branch out from my local vendor and see what's out there and available from other Canadian vendors.

Cheers, Vape Proud!
