First off, this is my first post on ECF (I'm a noob. Sorry. D: ). Second off, in lieu of studying for a test I have in 7 hours, I have been reading on mods for the past three hours and I am really interested in getting one; a Provari to be exact.

A little background of my e-cig usage would be in order. I used a DSE-901 three years ago and then I smoked analogs for the past two years. I started vaping again because my nursing program wouldn't allow me to smoke analogs due to the smell and also because my university doesn't allow me to smoke on campus (it's Christian). In two months, I went purchased a starter kit from V2 (don't know the model numbers exactly), a 510, and now an Ego-T. I bought the Ego-T because I have long hours at school and clinicals (I'm a nursing student). I really don't like the fact that the Ego-T leaks at the most inopportune times, that I get really random changes in taste depending on how much liquid is on the wick at the time of the draw, and that the LR atomizers I use die in a week or two (at best). From what I read on ECF, people have posted that a Provari accompanied by a Liquinator tank (with a Boge cartomizer) offers consistent (and good) taste, long battery life, and no leakage.

So... Any advice for a rookie? :D

Provari is a good mod. One of the best VV mods. Only thing I don't like about the Provari is the fact that low resistance atty's and cartos fail on the Provari at least in my eyes. Lets say you are trying to use 1.5 ohm dual coil cartos. You will be restricted to around 3.7 volts. 1.5ohm DCC's shine at 5v or around there. I hate being restricted like that. Not a big deal overall though.

I say go for it, I love my provari as far as LR there is no need to put that kind of strain on the battery LR was really designed for 3.7v PVs to mimic higher voltage, 4.2v@1.5ohms gives you 11.76 watts you can get that by running a SR atty of 2.2ohms at 5.1v and as far as dual coil it will run 2.5ohm dual coils if you feel the need. but thats just my opinion.

I think I should have clarified that I used an LR atty on my Ego-T and the LR atty keeps burning out on me. From what I've read and understood, with a VV mod you don't need to use an LR atty/cartomizer because you can tweak the voltage setting to what you want on a 3.0+ ohm atomizer/cartomizer and get the same results as an LR atty/cartomizer. I was thinking of getting a liquinator with a Boge 3.0 ohm cartomizer for the tank+cartomizer set-up. Does that sound right?

I have the same setup with the Provari and the liquinator and I really enjoy it. The only advice I would have is to go ahead and get the extension cap for the larger 18650 batteries and a good drip tip. Good luck on the test.

Just because you do use the same setup as I am looking into, do you think that it will hit the mark on what I'm looking for? And as far as the battery, I recall some members saying that the batteries sold by provape were better than the other battery brands that are currently on the market (as far as the provari goes). And I shall let you know how I do on my test. :D

sounds like a good setup to me, I was just commenting on what danwich was saying

It sounds like it would work well for you. There are no leaks, it produces lots of vapor with good taste and holds enough juice to last a long time without refilling. As far as the batteries, I use the AW IMR 18650 and haven't tried the newer one provape has listed on the site. I typically use 2.5 ohm dual coil carts and punch the holes in them myself using a 1/4" self-tapping saddle valve from home depot. If you search the forum, you should be able to find more info on that and I highly recommend getting one as it's much easier than trying to cut slots with a dremmel.

Ditto. I just bought my second Provari. Waiting for her to arrive.

Provari is a great great mod. I own the darwin, if your a tank person the provari is a better route. You can use tanks on the darwin but you will need an adapter and a gooseneck or leezrd tail to close the arm.

Pros and cons to each mod. For me it was the darwin that finally sold me and I love it and wouldn't sell it for more than I purchased it for.

You may find the 2.5ohm and the 3.0ohm cartos work best with the provari. No matter dual or single coil they should both work just fine.

Best advice I can give, is to enjoy it!! :)

Hi. I love my ProVari - satisfies my need to tinker and for HV vaping. After moving up to 5v from 3.7 it's hard to go back. I was a heavy smoker (at least 1PPD) so it's more satisfying to me. Re: classifieds and selling ProVaris they move fast. I just purchased a "back up" ProVari there and there are usually ads running looking to buy them. I have the battery sold by ProV and it lasts me at least 1 day heavy vaping - sometimes longer than that. Would recommend having a back up battery or mod for when you are charging.

My only consern with provari is the checks of resistance, its better suited for high resistances, in my IATTY with 1,7Ω (0,162mm wire) i doesn't work, although in a mechanical mod i dont have problems even if i drop in 2x3,7V in serial with the same resistance.
Other than that its an excelent choise

IMO, Provari pairs well with Standard resistance and high resistance. Anything above 2ohm is good pairing with provari. :D
