I know this may be sacrilege around here but has anyone tried thinning out their BB with pg or PGA? I want to be able to use it in a tank, but it's so thick it requires two large cuts in the carto before it will start feeding.

I tried it in my REO that I modded to auto feed and it's still too thick. Tried it in a drip on demand kit from another supplier and... Still too thick.

If anyone has thinned it out, does adding pg change the flavor, and what amount did you add per 30ml?

I've found that many thinner flavorings have a distilled water base, and we use flavorings in all of the juices. So I've used only a few drops of distilled water in a small bottle (12ml for instance) does the trick. Water is already in there and the chance of it effecting the flavor is minimal if you do some small trial runs before each vape (test it little by little.)

Hum, I often wondered why BB had to be so thick....I use a blunt needle syringe to fill my carto's and have no problems but always thought a small amount of distilled water could be added into the formula by subtracting the same amount of VG, thus the flavor would not be diluted, and the juice would be thinner....I know AV does not vary from the formula, but why could it not be made a little thinner????

Just asking....

Let me first start by saying that thinning out Boba's or any other AveJuice is pure Blasphemy!!!

Before you resort to something as drastic as that, try some XL Kanger 510 stainless cartoz first. Works well for me with 2 punched holes as I have tried every single carto ever made thus far. Here is a pic of it in my 5ml tank and along side a XL Dual Coil Smoktech and a Boge just for size comparison.

Yes, adding d-water to BB is pure Blasphemy!!! But modifying the formula at AV could make it thinner.....BB is very widely touted as a wonderful juice and I concur.....the ONLY negative comment seems to be the thickness.....

I can get BB to work in my carto's and have no desire for a tank....BB will continue to be my all day vape, but thinner would be a plus IMO.....AV ROCKS....

I'm currently having difficulty trying to get Boba's to wick properly in my carto/tank setup. I can use a syringe and fill a carto with no problems, but, I cannot get the juice to get through these punched holes. I actually now have a total of 3 holes in this particular carto; 1 that came pre-punched, another that I made, (which is much larger than the former), and one more next to the bigger hole. I've also added a very small amount of PGA directly into the tank, but still, no wick action.

So, here's my question: When thinning BB (Seven, forgive me) should I make the mix into a different bottle and then syringe it into the tank? In other words, does it matter than I just attempted to add PGA to the tank without pre-mixing? Also, should I use a virgin carto with the new mix?

I see that distilled water (bottled water?) is advised as well. Does this work better than PGA? Or is it just "safer"?

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Levitas, I read some of your other posts and see you are using a 3.5ml Dual Coil Tank along with a 1.7ohm Smoktech carto(ressurector same thing). Those cartoz aren't the greatest to begin with but should be able to wick without thinning down the Boba's. They key is to first soak the carto's filler well, after you do that, a few dry hits every so often should keep the filler wet.

What I usually do is, take the top off my 100ml bottle, set your fully loaded tank with carto on the bottle( it's the perfect size to not fall in). I then use a syringe and flood the carto letting the excess juice drain back into my 100ml bottle. I keep doing this until I am positive that the filler along with the cotton wrapped coil is overly saturated. After that, the filler should accept the Boba's much easier now that it has been fully wet. It's kind of like when you buy a new chamois to wipe your car, the brand new chamois doesn't absorb water very well until you break it in.

If your problem is with the size of the holes, now that is a different story but you really do not need that big of a hole. Those pre punched flanged smoktech Dual coil cartoz that I see have way too small of a hole for Boba's. I am not sure how big your holes are but if they are about the size of the ones in this pic, they should be ok. You will still need to do a few dry "power inhales" every so often to suck the liquid into the carto and I know it is a pain to remember but that is pretty much the only way. My only other suggestion would be to try the XL 510 Kangers in stainless which I am now using. ( also shown in pic)

All I know is that I have never in my life had to thin down Boba's, not even once.

Thank you, Keith. I will try and over saturate the carto after lunch (as well as dry pull) and give it a shot!

Please let us know if anything improved, I cannot help but cringe when people start modifying Boba's.

Wrapping your fingers or hand around the base of the tank helps close off the air, if you do this while taking the dry hits, it helps get liquid into the carto much faster. One last trick is if your drip tip is the same width as the carto, you can slide the tank up just enough to expose the holes to air, suck in a few times then slide back down. After that, take a few more dry hits and the filler should be much more accommodating.

Good luck !!!

I DONT GET IT!!!

I have been using bobas in a carto for almost 2 years now and have never had wicking problems. I use the condom method, put about 15 drops in and fill, wait 30 seconds to a minute for the juice to soak into the filler and vape it.

I just filled a carto with bobas 5 minutes ago and its working fine. Never thinned it and certainly have never complained about it. The vapor rooms VG is wayyyyyy thicker than AV and still...no problems for me in a carto...ever.

Also...I top off with 2-4 drops every 25 hits or so. I tilt the carto, drop it, wait 15-30 seconds for it to soak in, and vape. Bada Bing bada boom.

Thats how I got my carto to wick.... oversaturating the Carto first to ensure the filler was FULLY wet and ready to accept more juice as it was vaped.

So not that Im going to do this to Boba's...but my wife has an eGO-C that refuses to wick some 100% VG juices.... can you use bottled water to thin VG?

some people love how thick the juice is. I'm on of them. I'm using BB and Raf in my 3mL tank with a boge from AVE, two smallish holes from a saddle valve, and I'm not having a single wicking problem. I was having problems with smoktech DCC, so I threw them on the ground, happy birthday on the ground. maybe use a different carto, or try a different filling technique. I use a wild banshee spinning thingy, works well.
