Hi everyone. I'm new here and have been vaping on and off for a few years. One of the things that put me off about vaping was the cost and quality, quality was very lacking in the early years while prices were sky high. While the prices have dropped, E Liquid is still vastly overpriced IMHO. I was reading through a few posts and saw people saying they have a .15/10ml cost, while prices hover around .50/ml!

To start with, I was thinking of just buying a higher nicotine than I need and then thinning it out with VG/PG, but I don't know what that will do to the taste or if it's even feasible. I don't find the tastes very strong to begin with.

I was also wondering if the stuff they sell at rite-aid is OK to use for e Liquid. Some conversations I've read at other places said it was fine, others say not to use them because they are made for other purposes. If I can't use that stuff, what stuff is the right stuff to use?

If the Rite Aid stuff is OK to use, I was thinking of taking 5ML of liquid at 28mg and adding 2.5ML of VG and 2.5ml of PG (as a test), though I might use more of the thinner stuff as the liquid I have is pretty thick. I assume this would give me 10ml of 14MG/ML liquid?

What equipment will I need to make my own liquid and if the Rite-Aid/Walmart stuff isn't the right stuff, what is a good supplier in the US with good prices (preferably a source I can get locally, though I assume the nicotine base will only be available online)? What's a good price for the stuff I need (PG/VG/Flavor and nicotine base)? What kind of cost per ML am I looking at by making it entirely myself (not diluting existing E Liquid)? I have syringes (unused from an ink cartridge refill kit) and I have some old E liquid bottles. What else would I need? Also, the last time I bought E Liquid locally, they made it on the spot (in the back) and the bottle was rather warm, much warmer than the air. Do you have to heat the stuff?

I'm sure I'll be posting again with more questions. Thanks in advance for any advice you can give me.

if your juice supplier offers double shots of flavor and higher nic levels then thinning with Humco Glycerin ( found at Walmart etc) will work... Heathers Heavenly Vapes offers double shot of flavor and up to 36 nic in just about any combination of PG/VG ratio...
you can basically double the volume of bottle that way.. their prices run on the avg of 40cents a ml but when doubled ( extra VG added by you) it runs about 24 cents a ml.... and... their ( HHV) product is awesome :)

Hi and welcome. Many e-liquid vendors will double shot the flavors and nic for you, so you can cut it in half with your own PG/VG. Any USP Food or Pharmaceutical grade liquids will do. VG can be bought at walmart, but I usually oeder mine online. I buy my nicotine at MyFreedomSmokes and my flavors at Flavor Apprentice. All you really need is a way to measure fluid wolumes accurately. I use lab glass, but plastic works and is cheaper.

Hello and welcome.
I have been cutting my eliquid for several months now.
The Rite Aid glycerin should be fine but you MUST be sure that USP is on the bottle.
I 'cut' my eliquid 50/50. I'm vaping 3mg nicotine, so I buy 1 bottle of 6. Cut it in half with glycerin USP from my local drug store and get 2 bottles of 3 for the price of 1.
Good luck to you and Vape On!
