I know you've already bought DW, but thought I'd chime in. I use VG based nic, VG, and flavoring. I don't necessarily think you need to thin it at all, unless you chain vape, or you're chucking clouds. But it really depends on your style and equipment. I'd try it without thinning first, to see if even you need to.

And even then, I'd experiment with R.O. (Regular Old) water. I wouldn't worry about impurities. I know, someone may mention potential volatile organic compounds. But- I mean, how much vapor from that Regular Old water do people inhale in the shower every day? Water boils at 212F, and you'll be vaping at 400-450F, so it's way past boiling, and "cleanliness" isn't an issue. So really, the biggest concern would be TDS (total dissolved solids) and minerals that could crud up your coil. When first starting diy, I tried thinning just with tap water to see if I liked it...and found I had no issues with all vg without thinning (which makes it that much easier).

But really, if you do need to thin for your vaping style and gear, long term, distilled water would likely have the lowest effect on your coil, and might give more peace of mind. Just my $0.02.
Thanks for the advice. if you don't mind ,do you know of a recent list of flavoring i VG that I could find. Going through each vendor to weed it out is going to be a chore. I'm not lazy but I thought someone might have done the heavy lifting already. Also you are all VG . thanks

I don't really search out vg based flavorings, tbh. The amount of vg, pg, alcohol, or whatever medium the flavor uses is such a small percentage that it doesn't really affect me. I started with Bull City and Wizard Labs, but then bought most of my flavors from Nic River - really only for convenience, since that's where I buy my nic. But I haven't been buying any flavors in a long time, since I started using only NET. And Nic River carries that NET.

Unless you're seriously affected by pg, the small percentage won't really affect you. For instance, here's the breakdown of Hangsen Tab (a tobacco flavor), which used to be my go-to. If you mix at 6%, and the flavoring itself is only 8%, then you end up with 0.0048 pg content in your juice. You'd have to be very sensitive for that to affect you.

It's commonly said that most flavorings are PG based, but people are for the most part assuming and just repeating what they've heard. Depending on what flavoring you use, it may have 0% pg.

Great point. Surely I can't be that sensitive. The 50/50 mix after a day really affects me. Even some 70/30 does after 2 or3 days. So I'm on my quest to make my own. By the way Hanson taste was my first time vaping thru a cartomizer. That was the reason I started vaping. Wife didn't like the smell. I thank you for your reply.

Yeah, sounds like you're kind of like me. When I started, I was using pretty high pg content. But I realized too much vaping bothered me. So when I started diy, I did it will all vg, and everything is fine. I can vape something has high as 50/50 for a little while, but if I do it all day, I can really tell. Even 30% over the course of a day will bother me. But I keep a Juul on-hand for convenience & post-meal nic hits, and hit it periodically with no ill effects.
