This Flavoring Stuff Is Kinda Crazy!!

OK...here's the story...

I was quickly running out of flavoring to do my favorite DIY juice with 6% liquid Menthol, 6%Koolada and 20%Wintergreen, all from TPA. So I cut back tremendously on the Wintergreen flavoring percentage to keep everything tame. I made the exact same amount of juice (25mls) with 4% Wintergreen, 3% Koolada and 5% Menthol. You'd think that this would have tamed the flavor down to just a hint.

Actually it did NOT!! Amazingly enough, it seems the higher Wintergreen concentration was cancelling out the Menthol. The end result was an amazing Menthol hit!! I then added 2% American Blend from Liberty Flights and came up with the closest thing I've experienced yet to my old analogs...Kools.

That sounds great! I made a peppermint/koolada mix that i am loving, about 10% peppermint and a little over 3% koolada -- i dont know if it is the peppermint or the koolada or both that is giving me that great whoosh but whatever it is, i love it!

I think the Koolada is most of what would give you that coolness in the back of your throat, while the peppermint gives the flavor. Sounds like a good recipe though.

It is amazing how some flavors completely cancel another out. Wintergreen was one of them as I recall. Glad you hit on something you really like. This DIY bizness is Big Fun isn't it?

Thanks for sharing this. Kools were my #1 menthol until I had to go to generics. I'll have to order some Wintergreen next time. One question, the American Blend from LF, is it a flavoring or a premade juice?

It's flavoring. I may be off on the name ( and possibly the supplier) I'll look when I get home this evening, but it's close. I actually got it in a PIF.

OK, it's called USA Mix, not American Blend. From Liberty Flights.

*UPDATE* For those that may try this recipe, you may want to start your mix off a little weaker with the menthol. After it steeps for a few days them menthol seems to get a bit stronger.
