I am currently using an automatic dse901. I have heard that many people get a better vaping experience from dripping directly on the atomizer. I have ordered a drip tip and a push button battery, but I was wondering if it would hurt my automatic ecig if I dripped some on the atomizer now? I have a nic juice and a no nic flavor that I have been mixing and dropping directly onto my cart but it seems like it is not mixing very well. I know a lot of people do not reccomend mixing and I was wondering what could go wrong if I did? Does it risk clogging it up etc*. I am very excited to receive my drip tip but I was wondering if there was any added risk with using one. Such as using up more nic than an cart or even frying the battery or atomizer.

I am a noob myself, but the rather strong impression I have gotten repeatedly is that yes, the drip method is much quicker to fry an atomizer. I haven't seen people talking about it damaging the battery, but I have not tried it myself, seeing as I currently only have two atomizers, and would like to get a good sense of how the ecig works before experimenting.

The real problem will be flooding your atty and getting eliquid into the auto batt, messing up it's sensor and shorting the batt. Mixing isn't a problem but it does mix better in a bottle then in a cart, and if your no nic flavor is a flavor consentrate, not a 0 nic eliquid, then you may be taking a risk of clogging the atty by dripping that straight onto it...

My husband is currently using the whistle tip cartridges and today he heard a very weird crackle and then he wasn't able to get a good hit. I took his cartridge off and looked at his filler and it looked like the plastic connected to the filler had melted a bit. I changed out the tip and cleaned out his atomizer by blowing through the side that screws into the battery and then it seemed to work fine. Is there a way to make sure this doesn't happen. I only have one spare of each part and do not want to risk ruining any of them!

It sounds like he melted the corner of the cart with the corner of the atty, that's happened to me before as well, if you look inside the atty and try to match the flat sides in the cart with the open space on the inside of the atty it should stop that from happening, I melted a couple of carts (they still work, it just tastes bad when you melt them) before I figured that out...

A 'weird crackle' and inability to get a good hit for a miniute can also happen if you over fill the cart and flood the atty, one reason I like manual batts is that flooding the atty won't hurt them, and it's better for the atty to be overly wet then overly dry. The attys 'burn out' by being vaped dry, the eliquid is acting as a coolant for the atomizer and produces vapor in the process, so you want to be sure your filler is always wet and is always touching the atty.

If you're relying on your PVs to stay away from cigarettes, get more spares, asap. Atmomizers and batteries fail, not a question of IF, only of WHEN. They don't last forever even under ideal usage. Get more spares, pronto.

About the hazards of dripping. The single biggest hazard is doing it with an automatic battery. As someone else pointed out, they aren't sealed, and getting juice into the battery will kill it dead. Finished. This isn't a problem with tne manual batteries, they're sealed.

You've already found the other hazard of dripping. But, it's nowhere near as serious. When you had to blow out the atomizer, that's because it was flooded. We all do it, some of us more than others. There's a technique to dripping and when you get the hang of it you will find you don't flood your atty as often. Even then, though, you will need to blow it out and/or clean it periodically to keep it performing well.

Get our spare batteries (manual for dripping) and atomizers, and ...

Vape on!

FYI: mixing your own juice is really easy and saves a bunch of money. Mistressnomad has a set of videos in the stickies at the top of this forum. She does a juice mixing tutorial that's worth checking out. I avoided mixing until just recently, but finally bit the bullet and gave it a try... turns out it's no big deal, kind of fun actually.
