My local B&M happens to be Cigtechs which is an awesome shop that offers wide variety of mods, starter kits, accessories and a whole ton of premium juices including their own which is amazing. I've purchased pretty much everything from them for my vaping needs and I visit the shop very frequently and always pick something up while I'm there. Although I am a bit socially awkward when it comes to talking to people and things of that nature they are always welcoming and always treat me and everyone that walks through the door like a valued customer. So anyway today I walked in looking for a couple things mainly needed a syringe and some kanthal. As always they greeted me with a smile and asked what could they help me with. I asked if they had syringes which they obviously did and also asked for some kanthal. They were quick to get my stuff for me while asking what else I needed. I asked one of the guys behind the counter if they had any Japanese cotton and if they just sold it by the pad. He didn't tell me how much it was but just said "sure man I'll just toss you some". I only spent like $15 and they gave me some Japanese cotton for free! It may seem like a small thing but it made me feel appreciated as a customer and it showed how well they treat there customers and how to keep them. Sometimes I spend over $100 per visit or sometimes I just pick up $10 worth of stuff either way I think this is how a vape shop or any local business needs to be ran and just wanted to share. I also have rant and horror story about another B&M that just opened and man they are the complete opposite but I'll share that one next time. Pictures just cause

I went to the upscale vape shop here yesterday. Two young men working.
Him: Can we help you?
Me: Looking for juice, do you have something like Reese's peanut butter cup?
Him: You haven't been here before? ( they used to mix fresh I think )
Me: No, first time
Him: We have something but not in stock right now
Me: How about a Smores?
Him2: No we will never have it. There is a carcinogen in the flavoring, the marshmallow
Me: OK how about any PG free juice?
Him2: There is no such thing as PG free. You need the PG as a binder for the nicotine.
Me: Thanks guys

Big fail. Bye Bye

My local vape shop was just as you described yours it was great I used to pop in every Saturday and spend hours there rebuilding and re wicking my coils showing each other our mods and toppers getting advice on how to coil and wick other toppers then one weekend I went there and I was told that when a customer came in with children we had to stop vaping because there had been complaints about the amount of vapour then came the stop of building our decks because there had been complaints about sharp instruments on the work counter by customers who had children then we weren't allowed to re wick our coils again because customers had complained about stuff on the work table being left out.

I now don't visit the shop any more the welcome atmosphere it once had has all gone now I'm not the only one whilst talking to other customers who frequently went there they have all said that they have stopped going there too I know of 5 serious vapours that just don't go there any more now 5 May just seem a splash in the ocean of customers that do visit the shop but when we were going there other customers would come over and ask us questions about our gear and learn from us the do's and do nots. We were loyal to the shop now we have nothing to say other than its a shop where you can buy vaping stuff from.

I won't mention the name of the shop there's no need but in my opinion a shop meant for vaping gear is a shop not meant for children as such they should not be allowed in the shop no matter the reason and as such the owners should not have listened to the complaints of these customers with children you wouldn't take a child into a pub then complain about ppl drinking it's the same as far as I'm concerned with a shop selling vaping gear.

That all said I'll stop now. *gets down off soap box*

I do agree that the complaining parents should not be able to get the rules changed so easily, the squeaky wheels usually gets the grease. The shop I am at all the time does allow parents to bring in their kids, but anyone under 18 MUST be accompanyed by a Parent or Guardian. The parents are responsible for their kids, and generally all the parents I have seen make their kids sit at the tables and behave. I feel like parents have a right to shop even if they have their kids in tow, and I stop vaping on my mechs or sigelei if a kid is in the shop on principle. 90% of the kids are well behaved and sit still while their parents shop, usually playing on their parents' phone. Also the shop does have pretty good ventilation and the vapor dissipates pretty quickly, unless 4+ people are going to town on RDAs, then the employees will turn on a fan or crack the door.

Now don't get me wrong, I am all for great shops that have a great atmosphere and a welcoming vibe where people can hang out, and I don't think vapers rights should be infringed by a few measely complaints, but it is the shops' right to set their rules, and hopefully they will come to realize they are losing their loyal following by catering to the needs of a few.

So your saying any one under 18 should be accompanied by a "minor" lol

lol this is a tough subject mattar I believe all minors should not enter the shop if a customer has a child that can not be left safely at the door then they should come back again when they don't have their child with them or bring some one who can look after the child whilst they are in the store. You wouldn't take a child into a betting shop and you wouldn't take a child into a shop that sells pornography this is because these shops are adult only shops such as a Vaping shop only caters for adults we should not be making it a warm place for children to enter after all kids do mimic and if its natural for them to go into these shops then I do believe they won't understand what vaping is about and the message we are trying to put across vaping is an alternative too smoking a way to try and help ppl if they choose too to stop smoking. I'm trying my best here to explain how I feel but I'm not very good when it comes to expressing my self in typed or written words I'm very dyslexic so please don't shoot me down if I don't come across as elegantly as some who frequent these forums.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to put across. Seasons greetings to you all and may the new year continue to see you smoke free.

CSayce.

No worries CSayce! I understand that this is a very difficult subject to find a way to please everyone. I am in no way arguing with you or finding fault with your opinions, and you definitely expressed the well enough to where I understood your thoughts behind this issue.

The shop I am at does cater to a wide age range of people, and I would take a gander and say that the average age range is 35-40, because there are plently of older folks rocking their eGo setups and quitting the nasties like the rest of us. I am sure not every parent brings their kid(s) in, but it is at least daily if not multiple times a day.

As for the mimicing, that is the reason I don't use my RDAs around small kids, and try not to even use my tanks. Also, keep in mind that parents vape, and they are going to be the ones that the kids will try to emulate most. My younger sister is 16 and I have explained it is a smoking cessation device, not some toy, and I do not vape around my elementary school aged cousins.

In conclusion, I do agree with you, but I can go with either side of this tricky conundrum.
