Not only did they stretch the truth, they outright Lied!

I propose someone go to freeforums.org ( or whatever) and make a free forum called ASH.org forum and present the facts about these issues. When people search for ASH they will also find the forum and see the info. They in fact do have their own forum so people can also counter these claims in that forum.

On your free forum post something like: Ash.org advocates the use of Dihydrogen Monoxide.

Effects of Dihydrogen Monoxide:

Death due to accidental inhalation of DHMO, even in small quantities.
Prolonged exposure to solid DHMO causes severe tissue damage.
Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects.
DHMO is a major component of acid rain.
Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns.
Contributes to soil erosion.
Leads to corrosion and oxidation of many metals.
Contamination of electrical systems often causes short-circuits.
Exposure decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes.
Found in biopsies of pre-cancerous tumors and lesions.
Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks.
Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere, and in hurricanes including deadly storms in Florida, New Orleans and other areas of the southeastern U.S.
Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Of course Dihydrogen Monoxide is another name for water. LOL They are using the same tactics
they are just playing Jedi mind tricks on people because people won't do the research and see through their lies. This needs to be countered and the people need the truth! :)
ASH is well known for twisting facts to make their argument. For example, from the document you linked to:
The State of Virginia has also ruled that e-cigs are included in the state's existing smoking ban: "Are electronic cigarettes banned under the new law? Electronic cigarettes are considered cigarettes and are banned in the same locations affected by the new law." Link
Not only does the document they link to NOT include ecigs, Virginia's attorney general, back in April, issued a ruling that ecigs are NOT covered under any of Virginia's smoking bans.
Virginia Attorney General Kenneth Cuccinelli has issued an official opinion on the use of so-called "electronic cigarettes" in spaces where smoking is banned. The opinion, which was released April 27th, finds that electronic cigarettes do not violate the ban since they do not produce "smoke" or meet the definition of "smoking" as set forth in the ban language.
Hard to keep those people from making ASHes of themselves :)
I haven't watched the video yet. Have some other stuff preloading at the moment, but...
Wouldn't it be better for vapors not to vape in non-smoking sections. I vape some flavors that definitely produce an odor. No one at my work complains, but they notice it. I'm more grossed out by the smell of perfumes than I am smoke, but even I can smell the odor in the air with certain flavors. I just think our time would be better spent educating people on what they are, and their benefits, instead of arguing with people about rules.
OK, I'll shutup now until I watch the video. Carry on...
Garyinco, I agree to an extent. While the above ruling implies I can vape anywhere freely, I don't choose to do so, since, in a way, I and my wife are "ambassadors" for vaping, and the less confrontational we are the better. Educating people, in appropriate situations is much better than "flaunting" it.
garyinco, I also agree to an extent. I don't want to go places and be forced to smell things I don't like so I respect that and don't smoke around people or places I know won't like it. But as in the case of ASH, don't make the ban mandatory based on lies and speculations and mislead the public that they are supposed to tell the truth to.
That is laughable to someone in the know. Go to the Link for Virginia, and you will not even find e-cig mentioned, but as an above poster mentioned, e-cigs are not banned in Virginia... and do not fall under the ban... Unfortunately for those that are not in the know, this paints a very scary picture to them. Most do not read up on this stuff, and when in a public place they see you exhale what looks like to them, smoke... and the then the fun begins. Be respectful of others and they will of you, usually... Ok usually not, and as a result I have come to honestly just hate people in general.
These people are zealots. Just imagine if there were no smoker, then what would they do? They will find a reason to push their agenda onto other issues. Their motto seems to be "guilty until proven innocent." They pretend to stand on the side of good, but all they're interested in is building an agenda that keeps them going. You know that types I'm talking about... those that can't argue based on reason and logic, so they just speak louder and twist the facts around. They get a kick out of it... so sad.
Hey fellow Darwin user,
I agree with you. The people trying to take our freedoms away are a large army. The old 60's hippies are spinning in their graves. The sad thing is the new age hippy-wannabes think they are furthering a cause the originals would have been appalled at.
I grew up in the 60's and was a hippy type, but I'm shocked at what people are trying to do these days.
Finally someone smart with a practicing degree in law! My father may not understand anything "electronic" but he's not putz about smoke versus vapor. :facepalm: Silly government, you can't trick us.
I just emailed these ignorant folks. Will be calling tomorrow, sheet of links to articles contradicting most of what they said on that page in hand.
"PG, found in antifreeze, is a respiratory irritant" Really? So that must be why they use it as a delivery medium for inhaler medicines, irritants would be great for someone with breathing problems. Antifreeze may well be an irritant, but we aren't smoking that, now are we? And that's just the tip of the iceberg that is their website. If ignorance is bliss, i fear the person i end up talking to on the phone will be quite annoyingly happy/perky...
I wish you luck talking to them (if you can even get to). But I keep thinking, "Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time, and it irritates the pig". I tried to contact them through their website. Guess what? It threw an error.
[sarcasm]Gosh. I guess its just coincidence that a misinformation filled website has no way to call them on their lies and half truths[/sarcasm]
