For those of you that don't read popehat, it is a group of free speach lawyers who are actually pretty darn funny.

So it seems that tons of main stream media have been pulling the tweets from a parady account created by the fine gentleman at popehat and reporting them as actual news. Just reason 5,097 why I don't trust the news media.

Big news sites like CNN still get caught sourcing Onion articles in their news. They're all racing to get the most viewers all the time that they never bother to actually check stuff anymore.

Well Newsweek ran an interview with the guys at Popehat after getting got. Good for them.

By now I am wondering, how come the big news outlets don't have special sections for goofy news. Probably they are trying to keep the illusion of competence and serous journalism , but since they are fighting only for views and money this is only a secondary objective for them. For example go on the CNN site and look for news, I mean real news, something different from: " Local Kids Give Charity to Kittens" " Ordinary Woman Lost 10000 pounds and now is Getting Married to her High school Sweetheart", "Adorable Baby Seal is Adorable" , you will find only that and sensational stories about the the end of the world as we know it.
