Apropos of nothing, I was in a gas station over the weekend and saw this monstrosity. I had to buy it, because I thought that it represented exactly why we have such an obesity problem these days.

Half. Pound. Peanut butter cup.

I don't even know how I'd go about eating this, never mind whether I will or not.

The ridiculous thing? The nutritional information on the back shows that it's 190 calories ... per 1/6th of the cup mug. Why 1/6th? How do you even divide this thing up into sixths? Slice it like a cake? Why do they insist on showing calorie count for an impractical portion of the whole?

Ship it my way!

The fiancé and I eat out once a week, this is where I get to order a bacon egg cheese burger and tons of other crap.

I eat like crap (and that cup wouldn't last me a full day) and I manage to weigh in at 200-210 every week. Which makes me think that I'm doing something right in life :D

I'm sure as hell not a healthy eater most of the time (I really should be but I'm too lazy/broke) and I do eat my share of burgers, pizzas, etc. And yes, I'm overweight. But this peanut butter cup ... I dunno. Somehow this just struck me as the one product that's now crossed the line from "more than it should be," flipped a drive-by bird to "just too much" territory, and rammed straight into the wall of "you've got to be kidding me." I mean, I like peanut butter cups, but not enough to eat that much in one sitting. Or four.

Then again, I'll eat a big bag of Cool Ranch Doritos in one day if given half a chance, so...

Also, that sandwich looks delicious.

We got one of those. You can't cut them, at least ours didn't cut. It more "mashed" into a rough approximation of where we wanted to cut. I was worried the chocolate : peanut butter ratio would be off, but it was a perfect balance between sugary dark brown and sugary light brown. My only actual complaint about them is the layer of peanut oil that inevitably forms above the sweet sweet creamy peanut butter filling.

I believe Shakespeare said it best, "Om nom nom"

I don't generally eat sweets/processed, and am on a very high calorie diet, so no regrets were had.

If you think that's bad then you wouldn't want to see the 1KG dairymilk bars...

How much did it cost? That is what really matters, I love those things... LOL!

Funny thing is I don't know. I didn't pay attention to the register and was paying for other things at the time so I'm not exactly sure what it cost. I think it was something like $4 though. But this was Petro Canada, they overcharge for everything, so they're probably cheaper elsewhere.

Yikes! That stuff is nothing but poison, seriously folks. Take a good long look at your food labels ~ they're loaded with chemicals. Call me crazy (my kids do, lol) but it's time to take back control of our temples and feed them with "real" food.

I don't really pay a whole lot of attention to the chemicals and stuff. I adhere to the "that which does not kill me makes me stronger" rule of thumb. (Except when it comes to smoking; technically it does kill you though, just very slowly) Still though, too much of a good thing and all that -- and this thing is too much of too much.

Maybe you'll become a NHL player sumo wrestler if you live on those things...

Fixed that for you.

hehe i bought my wife a two pack of those they were selling here for a while. I would upload the video but she was mad enough it made it on youtube.

lol ... I can imagine it could give offense. "How fat do you think I am that you think I could eat that behemoth?!"

Atkins? Yeah, this would probably be okay for the Atkins diet. I'm not on that (or any) diet so ... yeah. I think you'd need a band saw to cut this thing.

At least with the 1kg Dairy Milk bars they're sectioned so you can nibble on a couple of squares and wrap the rest. This thing is not meant for nibbling. It seems made to scarf in a gluttonous frenzy that ends with your mouth area covered in a sheen of melted chocolate and regret.

We have the two packs of those here, plus a ridiculous full pound Snickers bar... The Snickers bar claims to be "slice and enjoy" somehow I don't guess it would slice too well lol.

A full pound Snickers?! Holy crap. You'd need a band saw to cut that thing up.

we're fat cause we spend too much time plugged into the cyber universe vaping away in smug satisfaction. :p
On a slightly more serious note, if we were more active as a community, i wonder if our more "advanced' mods would be so big, heavy, prone to falling apart if dropped from out shirt pocket, have to be set upright so the geni doesn't leak out, etc.
